PAUL'S P.O.V.
We were this close to getting out of here! But no! Our worst and ugliest nightmares had to intervene one last time! I swear, someone needs to euthanize these pricks. I can't help but to smile at that thought as we creep back into the shadows of the cave. Hopefully the girls can come up with an idea to get rid of these buttheads so we can be rid of this time and place for good.
"Goin' to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Goin' to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Gee, I really love you
And we're gonna get married.
Goin' to the chapel of love."
I glance around the main room as music fills the air around us. I can't wait to see what the ladies have planned for these bozos!
SAM'S P.O.V.
I have to act like a lovesick fool over Michael Emerson. Gross. But I'm determined to make myself appear as clingy and in love with him as possible. Shouldn't be too hard, right?
Sam Emerson and Alan Frog charged into the cave hollering like banshees. I wait until the last hunter is inside, which was Edgar Frog. He was limping with a cast on his left ankle. I walk slowly but confidently past him, clutching my bouquet firmly in my hands, an excited smile on my face. I march straight up to Michael and quickly tap him on the shoulder before wrapping my arms around his waist.
He whips around and his mouth falls open in shock. His eyes slowly assess my appearance before he falls into panic mode.
"Wait a minute! Who are you? Why are you here? Why are you in a wedding dress? And why are hanging all over me? I don't know you!" He rambles on with a confused look on his face.
I fight to keep the excited smile on my face as a shudder runs through me. Acting child like in front of him was easy. But acting romantically interested in him was an entirely different thing. Especially knowing he was partly responsible for killing my new friends and boyfriend, even if it was only in a movie.
"Hiya, Honey! What took you so long? You know a bride shouldn't be kept waiting on her wedding night!" I gush excitedly while I squeeze my arms tightly around him.
"Wait, wait, wait! Wedding night?! W...we aren't m...married!" He stutters over his words while the other guys looked at me in amazement. Michael looks at them with a 'help me' look on his face.
"Give me a second, Dude! I'll figure this out, since she's obviously lost her mind! I'll be back in a minute." Alan tells him before turning around and heading back in the direction they just came from.
He disappears into the shadows for a second before reappearing again with a look of absolute horror on his face. Courtney must have met him halfway. This should be good!
PAUL'S P.O.V.
I'm trying my best to hold in my laughter as Michael panics over Sam's words. I mean, what's the big deal? He has my devastatingly gorgeous lady hanging on his arm, trying to convince him that they have a wedding night ahead of them. What's not to love about that? It's not like a screw up like him could ever land perfection like her. But man does she make a convincing bride or what!
I see my brothers watching with rapt attention as Courtney chases Alan back into the main room while screaming, "It's ok, Husband! It'll be my first time too! We can learn together!"
I hear a scoff to my right. I glance over to watch as David throws tiny rocks under the kid's feet. He trips to the ground, causing Courtney to fall over him. I snicker as she tries her best to get up, only to have her high heels get caught up in her skirts. Poor Alan is struggling under her while trying not to touch her.
"What the hell are you talking about?! We aren't married!" He shouts as he finally manages to get to his feet.
She clutches his hand and drags him to one of the barrels lit up with fire.
"Of course we're married! Hold out your left hand in the light!" She orders him while holding out her own left hand, showing off the hallucination of a big diamond circling her ring finger. I can see Sam moving over to light as well. She holds out her hand too.
"We don't have rings on because we aren't married!" Michael exclaims as he and Alan hold out their left hands. Shocked gasps can be heard from all but the girls when gold bands are seen on the guys ring fingers.
I glance over a Dwayne, who's deep in concentration. He must be the one responsible for the hallucination of the rings. Way to go, Dwayne!
SAM'S P.O.V.
I watch as the hunters faces change from shock to amazement to confusion and back to shock.
"See? We're definitely married! Don't you remember? We got married in a double ceremony...earlier today... at the church on Maple Street! You guys told us to meet you here! You said we would spend our wedding night here and leave for the Bahamas tomorrow! I'm so excited!"
I can't believe I spewed out those lies that easily. I don't even know where I got that from. We definitely didn't have time to work out the finer details before all of this started. I guess I'm better under pressure than I give myself credit for. Score 1 for me!
"Alan! Let's go find us a room for the night so we can get started on that family you said you've always wanted! You said 8 to 12 kids, right? I think I can handle that!" Courtney tells Alan in a flirty tone of voice while pulling on his arm.
"Wait just a minute! I don't understand how you guys even know Alan and Michael? What are your names and how did you two meet them?" Sam Emerson asks me while scratching his head in confusion.
"Alan helped me at the comic book store! He didn't say much, but he didn't have to! I just knew I was meant to be Mrs. Nicole Frog! So, I proposed! The rest is history." Courtney says in a dreamy voice with a sparkle in her eye.
I tug hard on Michael's arm to get his attention. I shoot him a bright smile as I explain to him how we supposedly met.
PAUL'S P.O.V.
"We met at a concert. You complained about wanting to ask another girl out, but she disappeared on you. We spent the entire night together...if you know what I mean!" I listened as Sam explained her fake meeting to Michael.
I could feel my fangs drop with a low growl coming from deep within my chest when she said the "if you know what I mean" part. Did she really have to add that in there?
My vamp side wants to tear into that little shit head. I have a lot of fury built up, and it has these boys names written all over it. But we were told to let the girls run them off, so I'll stay put...for now.
SAM'S P.O.V.
I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I heard a growl come from deep within the shadows. I know what I said probably pissed Paul off, but I couldn't think of anything else to say at that moment that would make Michael want to run away from me! I make a mental note to smooth Paul's ruffled feathers later.
"Michael! Don't you remember our plans for a 200 acre farm with pigs, goats, chickens, sheep and cows? Not to mention the 6 little rug rat babies we're planning on having. We'll start on those tonight!" I tell him with a flirtatious wink.
He looks over my head at his brother before looking at me and saying, "Stay right here! Let me talk to my brother real fast, and I'll be right back!"
I knew he was starting to panic, but I wasn't satisfied with his reaction yet. He needs to leave and take the other goons with him!
I watch Courtney as she clings to Alan's arm, trying to pull him towards the hallway that leads to the empty rooms in the cave. He's resisting as much as he can without resorting to physically removing her from his side. At least he's trying to be respectful by not touching her. Kudos to the quiet Frog brother!
Edgar is sitting on what's left of the couch, his mouth hanging open while listening to everyone else's conversations. I would have laughed if I hadn't caught sight of the barely visible shadow lurking behind him.
What the hell is he up to?
PAUL'S P.O.V.
We really need to get this show on the road, so I've taken it upon myself to show my lady love how to properly scare someone off. I'm rather good at it if I do say so myself.
Like Dwayne, I also have the gift of hallucination. And I know how to use it! I smile widely as the wheels start turning in my mind.
Anyone who knows me knows I love to have a good time. These poor idiots have no idea what's coming their way. I can't wait to see them trip over each other trying to get out of here. I squint my eyes and dig deep into my imagination as the cave goes completely dark.
Let's get this party started!
