***Hanging Scene
"Isn't that what you said?" Murphy asked Bellamy. "That you were just giving the people what they wanted, right?"
"I should have stopped them."
"Yeah, it's a little late for that now," he said, pushing the tears away from his eyes.
"You think they're just gonna let you walk out of here?"
"Well, I think the princess is dead," he said of Clarke, "but I know the king's about to die, and the queen loves me, so... Besides, who're really gonna lead these people, huh? Alia won't want to do it, at least not by herself, so me. That's who. And yeah, maybe I'll have to kill your Grounder pounding little sister-" Bellamy tried to kick Murphy, but the rope around his neck prevented him from going anywhere. Murphy ran over to pull the rope, causing him to have to stand on the tip of his toes to be able to breathe. He stopped pulling when he heard a scream from under the floor. "I'm guessing that's her right now." He picked up the gun and shot through the vent in the floor.
"No! No!" Bellamy yelled. "Alia's down there too! Stop!" Murphy froze and Bellamy took the chance to try to escape, but Murphy caught him and kicked out the stool from beneath him, causing him to choke as he hung there.
"Using your hands is a cheat," Murphy told him as Bellamy pried at the rope around his neck. "Mine were bound, remember?" he asked as he tried to pull them away, but Bellamy punched him, knocking him to the ground before he got back up, hitting Bellamy in the stomach with the end of the gun. He stopped as the door creaked open.
"Raven, you did it!" Jasper yelled to her as they waited for the door to open enough to get inside as Murphy rushed up the hatches. They went in slowly with their guns ready before they saw Bellamy's limp body hanging, letting their guns fall as they rushed over to him. Jasper grabbed his legs and lifted him up.
"Bell, hold on!" Octavia yelled.
"Cut the seat belts!" Alia panicked as Octavia pulled them apart, allowing Jasper to quickly lower Bellamy to the floor.
"Bell, breathe!" Octavia yelled as she and Alia pulled the seat belt from around his neck.
"Come on, breathe!" Alia cried.
"Breathe. Can you breathe?" Jasper asked before he took in a raspy breathe.
"Good. You're okay," Octavia told him.
"There you go. Just like that." Alia held his head as he took in more shaky breaths.
"Raven, he's fine!" Jasper yelled to her.
"Oh my God," Alia cried, kissing his forehead. "You're okay. Just keep breathing."
"Murphy!" Bellamy yelled, getting up shakily. He panted as he went to the ladder. "Murphy, it's over!" He grunted as he tried to go up, pushing on the blocked hatch. "Murphy! There's only one way out of this for you now!" They heard a loud explosion and they all ducked before Bellamy broke through the hatch. "Murphy!" he yelled as he climbed up, Alia following him. They looked through the smoke to see a hole blown in the side of the dropship.
"Guy knows how to make an exit," Jasper mumbled as they all looked out of it, seeing Murphy running away. "Should we go after him?"
"No." Murphy glanced back at them, his eyes meeting with Alia's. She saw the relief and regret in his eyes before it disappeared and he turned and continued running. "Grounders will take care of Murphy. We're going after Clarke, Finn, and Monty," Bellamy stood and looked at Jasper. "You and Raven were right. We don't abandon our own. Two guns. You and me. That's it. Raven stays here to build up defenses with Alia," he walked back to the ladder. "We lost a day because of this and all our gunpowder. Raven!" he called down.
"Bellamy, wait," Jasper told him. "Look, I just..." He gave up on words and hugged him. "Thank you," he whispered before pulling away. "Long way from whatever the hell you want." Bellamy gave him a small smile before they heard Miller speak over the radio.
"All gunners, we got movement outside the south wall!" They all rushed down the ladder and out of the dropship, everyone aiming their guns at the gate. "Wait! Hold your fire!" he told them as he looked over the wall. "Clarke and Finn! Open the gate!" Two people opened the gate, Clarke and Finn running in as Bellamy and Alia made their way to them.
"Hey, we heard an explosion. What happened?" she asked.
"Murphy happened."
"Thank God," Jasper let out as he hugged her. "Where have you been? Where's Monty?"
"Monty's gone?"
"Clarke, we need to leave. Now," Finn said. "All of us do. There's an army of Grounders unlike anything we've ever seen coming for us right now. We need to pack what we can and run."
"Like hell we do," Bellamy argued. "We knew this was coming."
"Bell, we're not prepared."
"And they're not here yet," he told his sister. "We still have time to get ready. Besides, where would we go? Where would be safer than behind these walls?"
"There's an ocean to the east. People there will help us."
"You saw Lincoln," Octavia realized at Finn's words.
"You expect us to trust a Grounder? This is our home now. We built this from nothing with our bare hands," he looked at the kids around them. "Our dead are buried behind that wall in this ground. Our ground! The Grounders think they can take that away. They think that because we came from the sky, we don't belong here. But they're yet to realize one very important fact: we are on the ground now and that means we are Grounders!" They cheered.
"Grounders with guns!" one kid yelled.
"Damn right! I say let them come."
"Bellamy's right," Clarke spoke. "If we leave, we may never find a place as safe as this. And God knows, in this world we could be faced with something even worse tomorrow, but that doesn't change the simple fact that if we stay here, we will die tonight. So pack your things. Just take what you can carry. Now." The kids dispersed and went to get their things.
"Help me!" Raven called as she slowly walked from behind the dropship.
"Raven!" Bellamy called as they rushed over to her.
"Murphy shot her," Jasper realized.
"Get her to the dropship," Clarke told Finn as he picked her up.
"Clarke," Bellamy stopped her, "leaving here is a mistake."
"The decision's been made."
"Crowds make bad decisions. Just ask Murphy. Leaders do what they think is right."
"I am," she told him before walking off.
"Bell, come on. We're leaving. We need to get our stuff."
He sighed before following her to their tent. "Are you okay?" Bellamy asked her as he sat on the bed, watching her pack their things.
"I should be asking you that," she turned, gently putting her hand on his neck. "Your neck's cut and already bruising." She picked up a cloth and dipped in a bowl of water. She looked up and gently ran her hand over the bruising as she cleaned it.
"I'm fine, Alia," he said, seeing the look on her face. "Really, angel."
She sighed. "When I came in and saw you hanging there..." She stared off, tears coming to her eyes.
"But I'm okay. Look at me," he took her face in his hands, making her look him in the eyes. "I'm fine now."
"Yeah," she sighed. "I know. I just... I don't ever want to see you like that again."
He sighed. "I'm sorry. Trust me, I don't want to be like that again either," he chuckled and she smiled. "If it makes you feel better, clean all you want, but I promise you I am fine."
"Okay. I am going to clean you up though."
"You do that, angel," he smiled before kissing her.
"I love you, Bell."
"I love you too."
A sweet ending to a not so sweet chapter. I personally loved the last scene and the plot of the episode overall. I hope you enjoyed! Only two chapters left! Stay safe!
