Murmurs and whispers invade my ears causing me to slightly move feeling the grasp of both of the grounders to tighten. I squeeze my eyes together keeping them closed, hearing a set of doors open.

The noise of the other grounders has died down. It's completely silent except for the scraping of my boots against the tiles and the heaviness of the grounders footsteps. We have to be inside of the tower by now.But if that's true...I don't even know what's to happen. I really thought they were to kill me in the woods. I was ready for it, but when they stopped...It tore something out of me. What that was? I haven't a clue-

"Heda in there?" A familiar grounder spoke. Gently, my eyes begin fluttering open just as two doors open. I knew the doors. The doors of the throne room and when they open my eyes met Lexa's soft green ones. Yet that doesn't last long as I'm dragged into the room and tossed down to my knees. But I can't even support myself. I begin to fall but that would be too easy. A pair of hands grands me, keeping me up on my knees. I sink my teeth into the gag, closing my eyes a moment.

"I thought you said for them to kill her," an unknown voice speaks. This immediately causes me to open my eyes. My eyes look to Lexa first who keeps her green eyes on me, looking over every inch of me with a gentle look. Then my eyes travel to the left of her finding a bald haired man with what looks like he's wearing a robe. His eyes stare at me, a disgusted, irritated look spread across his face.

"Plans change Titus," Lexa answers. I flick my eyes to her. Her soft gaze no longer. Instead it's a serious, determined look. But the thing is, she's not even looking at me...

"Heda, you know what you must do. If word gets out to the other clans, we are done for."

Silence fills the room and I drop my head, closing my eyes. Titus is giving me really bad vibes and I can barely think of feel anything. But by the way he looks at me and the way he speaks it's obvious he doesn't like me. Probably even wants me dead like these other grounders. Yet honestly...I don't care anymore.

"Leave us," Lexa finally speaks. I feel hands remove from me and I almost fall to the floor. Luckily I catch myself, but not without the expense of feeling sharp pains throughout my body.

"Heda, you must listen-"

"I am commander! You take orders from me Titus-" Lexa pauses, cutting the bald man off. "I will deal with the clans, but for now leave us. I do not want to be interrupted."

An unusual silence fills the air before I hear footsteps walk past me. I flinch a bit as they walk by, but nonetheless when I hear the door open then close I feel myself calm a bit. Yet, that same silence remains until I feel a presence near me. I clench my jaw, tensing a bit before feeling two fingers punch my chin picking up my head. As my head is gently lifted I slowly flutter my eyes open to be met with green ones. That soft gaze from before appears in front of me and for some reason I feel my shoulders relax. My eyes slowly look back and forth between Lexa's eyes, still feeling her fingers on my chin.

"I knew sooner or later you'd try to escape-" The girl pauses a moment. Her eyes shifting back and forth between mine. "And I knew you'd do it with that trip through Polis. But the way you did it was not expected."

I gently tilt my head to the side, confused by her words. She continues to look back and forth between my eyes, keeping that soft look in her eyes.

"I told Nik to test you. We didn't plan the thief part...But Nik told me you stopped the one. Thank you."

I remain silent. I mean if I wanted to talk I couldn't, I wouldn't. Due to the gag in my mouth and the pain of feeling I could just fall dead at any given moment, there's just no point in speaking or well trying. So I just stare back at the girl.

Silence fills the space between us. She slowly pulls her fingers off of my chin but kept her hand close. Her other hand lifts up grabbing a hold of the gag. Both hands pull the gag from my mouth and down, resting on my chest. I watch Lexa's eyes as they follow the gag and then back up, seeing her eyes widen. Carefully out of the corner of my eyes I see her right hand lift and feel her thumb gently hover over my lip. I flinch as she barely touches it, she pulls away for a moment before slightly guiding her thumb over my lip.

I fix my eyes to look at the girl in front of me. Her green pearls fixated on my lips. It's got to be busted. I can taste the blood inside of my mouth now, it's an awful taste. But I say nothing, watching the commander of Trikru in front of me. My mind begins to wonder about Titus and who he is. Also about what these clans are. What clans? How many clans are there? And what about this? She's testing me? Testing me why?

"Can you stand?" Lexa asks, tearing me from my thoughts. I look to her eyes finding them on mine. Slowly, I shake my head from side to side. Lexa nods back gently removing her hand off of my lip. She slowly stands, moving behind me. I close my eyes a moment tensing once I feel her hands on mine. I keep my eyes closed before feeling the tightness of the rope loosen. My hands fall a bit and I bring them around, slowly peaking my eyes open.

Gently, I rub my wrists, keeping my gaze on them. Lexa's footsteps are light next to me. I can see her walk around me, out of the corner of my eyes but after she passes I keep my eyes directly on my wrists. They're bloody and bruised. Rope burns implanted into my skin. I continue to rub them feeling Lexa's eyes burn into me. But I don't look at her, not until I see a pencil enter my vision.

"Wha-" My voice stops. It's barely audible. It's dry.

"I made you lose your other one." Her voice was low, gentle. I nod slowly, before reaching out my hand, taking a hold of the pencil. My eyes scan up to Lexa, our eyes meeting. Neither of us more nor speak. Our eyes stay locked us both of our hands remain on the pencil. That is till I slowly let go of it shaking my head from side to side. Lexa's head tilts to the side, her eyes squinted.

"I c-can't-" Is all I can say closing my eyes. My head feels foggy. The rooms spinning. My stomach burns. My head hurts. The numbness I had been feeling is fading off. I'm beginning to feel every ache and every pain. But before I can drop, fall further to the ground I feel arms quickly wrap around me as well as someone's body against mine. Slowly, I peak open my eyes to meet those of concerned green ones. She looks frantically between my eyes before I see her mouth open. She shouts but I hear no words come out. I close my eyes once, feeling her shake me. My eyes pop back open to feel her hand grab a hold of mine.

"You got to stay awake Y/N," she whispers.

"I c-can't..." With that my eyes close hearing nothing more than Lexa's screams and seeing last of her green eyes.

Knock, Knock

I jump at the sudden noise on the door. My eyes focus on the door rather than the journal in my hands. And I say nothing. I don't have to as the door opens. My eyes are quick to scan the person feeling some type of relief to be met with Clarke. But I don't move. I stay planted where I am only slowly shutting the journal seeing her step forward as a guardsman shuts the door behind her.

"Hey," Clarke's voice trails off as I sit up placing the journal under my pillow, sitting up then leaning against the wall. Clarke soon comes over and sits on the bed beside me, resting her own back against the wall. A heavy sigh escapes her lips which causes me to look straight ahead staring at the wall opposite of us.

"They found a girl hiding under the floors or well they found her at that masked party," Clarke started. " I mean it's crazy. No one knew she even existed and 15 years later she shows up out of the blue-"

"She was trying to live..." I cut Clarke off. " Was the parents floated?"

"Just the mom...No father in the picture."

I nod my head for a second before leaning it against the wall. Silence takes over between me and Clarke, which is fine. This usually happens but this girl she was talking about seemed, intriguing. It had to of been hard hiding for so long! Like how did she do it? No family is to have 2 kids... Which is stupid in my opinion but that's just the Arc's rules. It's been that way since forever. That's what father always said...

I close my eyes feeling tears come to the surface. A squeeze to my hand appears right after providing somewhat of a comfort but not much. But I let it go. No point in fighting it.

"They didn't float the girl," Clarke suddenly spoke, but I kept my eyes closed. "They only arrested her. I promise-"

My eyes slowly flutter open hearing soft murmurs from a distant. When my eyes open I'm met with a ceiling, no wonder. Slowly, I look around the room finally meeting Lexa who shuts the door and begins walking towards me. I go to position myself to sit up, somehow managing to prop myself on pillows. Lexa walks over, taking a seat on the bed causing it to dip in a bit. My eyes switch to her, our eyes locking immediately.

"Wha-What hap-happened?" I question, my voice cracking a bit.

"You fainted," Lexa simply responds. I nod slowly, looking away from the girl and spotting my wrist that happens to be covered in bandages. I think for a moment. Long and hard before remembering bits and pieces of events.

"Nyko found the back of your head bleeding which he said caused you to black out."

I nod once again, remaining quiet. Silence then takes over the both of us. Yet, I keep my eyes on my bandaged wrists but can feel Lexa's green eyes staring at me. I clench my jaw picking up my head catching the commander's eyes.

"W-what is this Lexa?" I ask.

"What is what?"

"This!" I pick up my voice. "Why are you helping me when you want my people dead?"

Lexa remains silent, but I can see her eyes get wide. I shake my head from side to side looking away a moment before looking back at her. Her eyes still wide, but her face remaining blank.

"Why are you keeping me here?" I pause a moment then continue. "WHY DIDN'T YOU LET YOUR PEOPLE KILL ME WHEN THEY FOUND ME? IT WOULD JUST BE BEST FOR EVERYONE-"

"Y/N," She says sternly, cutting me off. Her eyes have relaxed but her eyes now speak a different story. One I'm not sure I really want to know, but I stand my ground.

"I was ready to die in the woods. They could've finished me, THEY SHOULD'VE FINISHED ME."

"No-"

"AND WHY NOT?" I shout, pausing a moment. My eyes flickering back and forth between her green eyes. "You want Skaikru dead. Well here I am Lexa! Kill-" Before I can finish my sentence I feel Lexa's lips on mine. I stare at her a brief second and before I can react she pulls away our eyes lock as my jaw sets.

"I-I'm sorry-" I shake my head head and lean forwards wrapping my arms around her neck, placing my lips on her's. My eyes close and I feel the softness of her lips kiss back. Gentle and gingerly. That is till I feel myself fall back, her falling on top of me, but not all the way. My head hits the pillow our lips remain locked. I let my hands run through her hair, before we break apart from kissing.

I open my eyes for a brief moment that before I can see anything I feel soft kisses on my neck. Instantly, my eyes close as my teeth sink into my bottom lip. That's when I feel Lexa's hands tremble on my shirt against my skin trying to pull it off. I open my eyes sitting up helping her till my back's right back down against the bed.
