Pt .1||ch.08

The gentle creak of rusty swings was somewhat soothing in the violent shower of spring rain. Such a loud sound that it drowned out your restless thoughts and the approaching footsteps.

Your thoughts raced as you swung solemnly, your brother, your dad, your mother, your past at Shiratorizawa and of course the volleyball team of karasuno.
The rain was relentless though and you quickly found yourself soaked and freezing, shivers consuming your hunched frame.
"God damnit it's cold, what are you doing out here you twit?!" The familiar voice of tsukishima rung out, followed by sugawara practically screaming at him to slow down.
You jumped a little jerking back and off the swing onto the cold, wet floor. "Ah, i was just going home, it was nothing" you muttered under your breath looking up at the tall boy, he saw through your bluff not just because tadashi had told him about the note but because you refused to break eye contact, you'd always done that when you were lying.
"Stop lying" he hissed "Tadashi is so worried right now, do you even care?" There was no anger in his voice but in its place was disgust, you flinched.

Sugawara had now caught up and leaned over you offering his hand to pull you up. "Hey [Name]? Do you wanna go home yet?" He hummed calmly a wave of relief flushed over you, at least he isnt disgusted by you.
"No i dont, not yet" you took his hand and you both stood up "Kei can you stay with Tadashi tonight" the blonde's eyes widened and he nodded hesitently "yeah but dont think you wont owe me, stay safe loser"
He began to walk off leaving you with sugawara, the pitter of the rain now faded to the background.
"So where you gonna go tonight huh?, you can't be staying out in this you'll get pneumonia?" He laughs turning to face you a weak smile dancing up the corners of his mouth. "I guess i could stay with michimiya? But i dont know where she lives" your reply allows him to ease up, he grabs your shoulder and begins to walk forward "guess ill walk you there then" he grinned loosening his grip and letting his hand fall to his side to dig out an umbrella from his satchel.
"Huh? Hey suga why weren't you using your umbrella before now, i mean your drenched!" You questioned as the boy cringed a little at the reasoning.
"I uh, well i may have forgotten i even had it" you felt your face scrunch at his awkward response "SUGAWARA! We're literally in a college prep class!"

Soon enough you both came to a halt infront of an apartment complex just outside of the city, you must have been walking for a while to get this far and the both of you- even with an umbrella -were soaked and numb to the bone by now.
"Hey, [Name]-chan, michimiya is in flat C20 on the third floor" he smiled as he led you into the building "im down here in flat A15 if you need me at all" you couldnt help but hug him as the elevator doors opened a sweet silence hung in the air for a mere second before you let go and clambered into the elevator, selecting your floor.

"what was that about?" the boy gasped as he shut his front door, hanging his damp umbrella and satchel on the coat rack, "what was what about, Kōshi dear?" Miss Sugawara's voice rung out from the living room.
"AH! Mum?!" Suga squealed bouncing backward toward the door and falling to the floor "its nothing, dont scare me like that!" His mothers laughter quickly echoing relentlessly through the house as she snickered and teased her teenage son about his girly squeal and silly reactions.

You were now outside michimiya's apartment considering just turning around and going home, i mean you didn't really know yui that well and you had only said you could go to hers to put Sugawara at ease afterall, you didn't expect to actually be escorted to the building!
Oh well to late to change your mind now, you decided, knocking at her door and standing in wait.
"Hell- OH MY GOD! [Name]-san what happened you look like wet dog" michimiya yelped yanking your wrist and pulling you inside "hold on a sec ill get a towel and then we can talk" the girl bolted off in a flash.
While you awaited her arrival you took note of her home, it was quiet and had a rather modern interior- this suprised you because the building itself looked quite worn -the walls where painted a pastel mint and where adorned with photographs of michimiya and some of her team mates along with some paintings of small animals and plants. The furnishings were pretty generic and matched with the more modern interior space amazingly well.
"Here, i hope you dont mind these pyjama's its just im assuming your going to stay!" The brunette forced two bundles into your arms, one was an oversized pyjama top and the other was a small towel. "Ah thanks alot michimiya, and yeah can i stay...if its not to much of a hassle" you bowed, you'd never realised how sweet she was her bubbly personality came across quite agressivly at school compared to how she was acting now.
"Of course you can, ill explain to my parents when they get back but for now lets just head through to my room" michimiya smiled leading you into her room.
You soon found yourself on michimiya's floor as she blow dryed your hair making small talk over school and her crush on daichi, she was especially careful to avoid your reasoning for appearing so sporadically, almost like she sensed your emotional state was fragile.
"So how did you know i even lived here?" She finally questioned once she'd finished with the hair dryer.
"Uhm well Suga-kun brought me here" you quickly realized that teasing would insue shortly.
"Hmm really? How sweet, you two always seem so close at school!" The brunette babbled still managing to be gentle with your hair even through her hyper activity.
"Yeah i guess he is sweet, but were only close because were friends!" You explained already aware of how she thought you felt about your friend.
"Hey no need to get defensive, i just observed your affections" michimiya giggled getting up from the bed and tredging out a sleeping bag from under her drawer "I guess its getting a little late now huh, you'll have to get up pretty early too sorry for keeping you up this long" the girl quickly hopped into her own bed, tossing and turning briefly before soft snores could be heard lingering around her pillow.

As you snuggled into the soft quilting of the sleeping bag you couldnt help but reach for your phone and send sugawara a text before ultimately falling to sleep.
"Thanks for everything, see you tomorrow Suga-kun :)"
