Chapter 1: New student.
~Kakyoin's POV~
I woke to an alarm sound, sighing softly as I turned off the alarm clock. It was time to get up and get ready for class. I was offered back at home in Japan to do an exchange student program to America. I agreed since I've never been there, and I always wanted to see new things.
Besides, I needed a new muse for my art project that was coming up. I didn't understand English very well but I learned through ways how others talk to each other.
As I got up from bed, I rubbed my eyes as I walked towards the bathroom that was across the room, yawning softly as I went there. I splashed some water in my face to wake up a little more.
It was 9:12am already, sighing softly I started to grab my things to take a shower in the dorm showers, hoping that they weren't full.
They are usually full in the mornings. As I grabbed a change of clothes and my shoes I grabbed my dorm keys and clothes and towel. Once I got everything I started to make my way to the dorm showers.
It was a quiet morning today, since mostly everyone is asleep or has morning classes. As I walked down the stairs to get to the showers there were some people passing by. I would just ignore them since mostly everyone is in a rush.
I've finally made it to the showers and what luck there was no one there! Which was good. I started to undress and turned on the water and let the warm water touch my body and hair. I sighed softly as I let the water touch me.
I've always loved taking warm showers..When I started washing my hair I began to sing softly- it was a song that I’ve been listening to and love dearly.
I forgot the name of it, but it is a nice song that always runs through my head.
"Needless to say, I keep her in check, She was a bad bad, nevertheless"
I loved this song just can't get it out of my head… anyways I finished showering because if I had stayed any longer, I'd be late to class. I hurriedly, changed and dried my hair.
Once finished I hurried out of the form showers, running up the stairs. Almost bumping into people but they moved out of the way.
Finally made it back to my dorm room, putting all my hygiene products away. I started to gather my art supplies and my backpack as well, throwing everything into my bag and throwing it over my shoulder.
Once I got everything ready, making sure I had keys, wallet, and ID. Looks like I'm ready to go!
"Alright...first day…let's hope I don't get lost.." I said to myself as I started to open the door, walking out of the room and closing and locking the door behind me.
'Well… there's always the first for everything…' I thought to myself, closing my eyes and taking a deep breath, and off I went to my class.
It didn't start until 11am but it was across campus, so it's better to get a head start. As I started walking out of the dorms, there were some students on their way to their classes as well.
3rd person:
Kakyoin was on his way to class, humming softly as he walked across the campus, making sure he was going the right way and to the right building.
He sighed softly as he finally made to the building, opening the door and walking in.
"Yeah.. This is the right building" He said to himself because he could smell the paint and clay on the first floor.
He smiled to himself, loving the smell of paints, clay, anything that dealt with art.
Once he found the room he was supposed to be in, he sat down at an empty table, placing his things down, waiting patiently. It was quiet and the room was very quiet a few people doing their own thing as they waited for the professor.
Kakyoin brought his sketchbook out, his pencil and eraser and started to doodle on the empty page, humming softly as he did so. He was drawing a bouquet of flowers, smiling softly as he looked at it.
There was a door opening sound and it was the professor, everyone looked up and stopped what they were doing. And looked up.
The professor smiled, noticing Kakyoin who was known and an exchange student.
"Alright guys, we do have a new student among us." She said with a bright smile.
Kakyoin sighed and shyly waved at everyone and at the professor.
"Hello…" He said softly but loud enough for them to hear him.
"Alright! Everyone get with your partners and let's begin where we left off yesterday. Also you, Kakyoin I'll help you just a moment let me get these guys set up and I'll come to you in just a moment!" The professor said happily.
Kakyoin gave her a nod and went back to doodling in his sketchbook again, waiting patiently for the professor to come by and help him catch up. Since he just came to school yesterday and had to get settled in before he could start his classes.
Once he was in his own little world he stopped doodling, like he felt bored of just drawing bouquets or painting a forest. He didn't feel inspired. Something was missing.
He sighed softly and placed his pencil down and stared out the window, thinking to himself.
"Alright, Kakyoin right?" The voice snapped Kakyoin out of his thoughts.
"Oh- uh yes-" He responded.
"Okay you are a little on schedule, but I'm sure you'll catch up, yes?" She said.
Kakyoin gave the professor a small nod. "Yes, of course." He replied.
"Good! As for now, why don't you do this project. It's due by the end of the semester. Can you manage?" The professor asked.
She handed a piece of paper, showing what the project is about and the writing portion of it as well.
Kakyoin skimmed through it, reading what needs to be in the project and what needs to be in the writing portion.
"Yes I can manage. Professor…?" He trailed off, not knowing her name.
"Professor Erina." She said kindly.
"Professor Erina" He repeated her name with a soft smile.
She smiled back at him.
"Glad to have you here. Please read through the project carefully and be as creative as you can." She reassured him.
Kakyoin gave her a nod again, looking at the paper thoroughly.
'This should be easy… I think' Kakyoin thought to himself as he read through the project instructions.
The instructions are:
Use your muse to illustrate and write an essay about your muse and why he's/she or it's your muse.
Make sure to think outside the box, think creatively and use that imagination.
Lastly, have fun with the project and remember you are getting marked for doing this solo. No partners within the class.
Kakyoin sighed softly, setting his head on the table, closing his eyes a little bit before taking in a deep breath.
'I need a muse… I need more inspiration. A garden or a forest won't cut it…' once again he thought to himself.
Kakyoin lifted up his head and looked through his sketchbook, seeing many of his masterpieces and a few of his fails. He sighed softly as he turned a new freshly opened page.
He stared at it, gently tapping his pencil against the empty paper as he was thinking on what to draw and what should be his new muse.
So far his first day was eventful. Even though he got a project right away. He kept staring at the blank page… thinking and thinking and thinking…
'What to do what to do…'
