The pack is out and about because they're sniffing out the blood sucker. Maggie has, once again, found his revolting scent and she followed it.
"Laurent?" Bella gasps.
"Bella," the blood sucker says as the pack grows near.
"Laurent!" Bella exclaims.
....
"I must admit," Laurent claims has he eyes the human before him, "I didn't expect to see you here."
"I live here," Bella informs him. "But you — I thought you were in Alaska with Carlisle's friend."
"Irina, I was," Laurent confesses. "It was kind of him to arrange, given my association with James and Victoria, the enemy."
"You tried to help," Bella says as a reminder.
Laurent begins to stroll around Bella at a slow pace. His eyes assessing Bella as he makes his rounds.
"I went to visit the Cullens, but their place is empty," Laurent claims. "I'm surprised they left you behind," he adds as he stops in front of her. "Weren't you some sort of pet of theirs?"

"Um... something like that," Bella mutters.
'We're getting close,' Jacob says.
Jacob finally phased just the other day and he was pissed that he had to stop talking to Bella. But once Maggie told her about her time in Port Angeles when she almost lost her cool due to her new wolf temper, Jacob understood.
'I know,' Maggie says. 'I can smell it.'
Jacob snorts as they sniff out Bella and the blood sucker. Paul is on high alert. He can love on his imprint once the blood sucker is gone. They've finally got him right where they want him, and he's not screwing this up. Sam is in between him and Jared. Each wolf is on high alert.
"You smell mouth-watering," Laurent adds as the woods get closer and then suddenly.... "I... don't believe it."
Laurent steps back in terror. Bella grows confused when she realizes that Laurent's attention has left her. Slowly, she follows his eyes and her eyes widen when a solid black wolf and a solid white wolf leave the trees. A large Timberwolf comes out, a gray wolf and a brown one. Jacob's russet colored wolf stops beside Bella as Sam and Maggie growl at Laurent, their canines sharp.
Laurent's crimson red eyes widen before he takes off running.
'Maggie, Paul, go!' Sam demands.
Maggie and Paul bolt forward. Embry and Sam follow in behind them. Jacob looks into Bella's eyes for a moment before he takes off after the back and the blood sucker.
Laurent twists and he swings at Paul, sending him halfway across the meadow. Maggie growls and she launches herself, pissed that the blood sucker just manhandled her imprint. Laurent shrieks, literally shrieks as Maggie lands.
'You can do this, Mags."
Maggie used her canines to rip Laurent's head off as Jared jumps in to help her defeat the stinking blood sucker. Sam mentally smirks proudly at his little sister as Paul shakes out his fur as he trots back over.
'Burn him and come home,' Sam instructs. 'Paul, Jared, Embry, with me. Jacob, you stay and help Maggie."
Jacob and Maggie go into some pushes and the change into the clothes they brought along. Maggie grabs a match from one of the pockets of the cut off jean shorts as Jacob puts Laurent's head with his body.
"Stupid blood sucker," Maggie sneers and she burns him. "I'm sorry he forced you to activate your wolf gene."
"It's all right," Jacob replies as the two walk back in human form. "How's your trigger yours? Blood sucker?"
"I was told I was adopted," Maggie states. "The surprise of the news and probably the Cullens made me phase."
"You're eighteen, right?" Jacob asks.
"Yeah," Maggie replies. "I turned eighteen last October, and moved in with my brother and his fiancée in November, and imprinted a couple of weeks ago."
"Guys," Sam says as soon as the two enter the house. "Harry called. Bella's scared, she went running and telling Charlie we were giant wolves, not bears, and they're putting out a hunting party. So..." he pauses. "We need to pull back on our patrols. At least until this dies down."
"You got it, Sam," Maggie chirps and she walks over to the couch and she sits in Paul's lap.
"Hey..."
Maggie cuts him off by kissing him on the lips for the very first time. Paul groans at the sudden feeling of fireworks and everything else going off at once inside his stomach and at the sudden feeling of Maggie's soft lips on his own.
Sam smiles a little as the others go home to their families. He goes upstairs to Emily.
Maggie moves to where she is straddling Paul and he grips onto her hips, neither one of them breaking the kiss. Maggie pulls away first, very reluctantly.
"Are you okay?" Maggie asks. "I mean, after that blood sucker threw you?"
"I'm fine, babe," Paul claims and he kisses Maggie again. "Is that why you felt the need to finally kiss me today?"
"That and the need to feel your lips on mine," Maggie whispers and she kisses him again. "I love you, Paul Anthony Lahote."
"And I love you, Magdalynn Nicole Swan-Uley," Paul replies as he rests his hands on Maggie's bare thighs. "I want you to meet my mother."
"Okay," Maggie says. "And I want you to meet mine. I know you already met, but you met as Sam's omega and friend, not as my imprint and first ever boyfriend."
"I'm your first boyfriend?" Paul asks in surprise.
"First kiss, too," Maggie blushes.
"I wouldn't believe I was your first kiss just now if you hadn't have told me," Paul muses. "You're an excellent kisser."
Maggie giggles and she nuzzles into Paul's neck.
"I want to meet your dad," Paul claims as he holds Maggie securely against him. "Charlie."
Maggie nods her head and she stays in Paul's arms as she gets comfy. Paul hums in content as he holds Maggie tightly and he kisses her shoulder before he nuzzles against her lovingly.
