"Miss Granger.." Slughorn said as we all took our first bites of our food at Slughorn's dinner party. "What exactly do your parents do in the muggle world?"
"Oh, um-" Hermione started to say as she swallowed her food "They're dentists, they tend to peoples teeth"
"Interesting.. Is that considered a dangerous profession?" Slughorn asked.
"Not particularly.." Hermione started to say with a small smile "Although a boy bit my father once, he had to get stitches" Thats when our heads all looked over towards the door that opened and closed quietly.
"Ah Miss Weasley" Slughorn said loudly as Ginny entered the room. She was wearing a small red dress, her eyes were red as though she had just been crying. Harry and Hermione shifted uncomfortably in their seats as Ginny sat down.
"Look at her eyes Haley.. She and Dean have been fighting again" Hermione said leaned over close to me whispering in my ear.
"I'm sorry I'm not usually late" Ginny said quietly pushing her chair in.
"That's alright.. you are just in time for desert" Slughorn said as our desert plates were brought out.
"Now.. Miss Silvering how's your father?" Slughorn asked as everyone's heads snapped towards me.
"He's um alright.."I said awkwardly shrugging my shoulders
"Oh that's interesting" Slughorn said wiping his chin with his napkin "I assumed he wouldn't be.. after revealing certain information to you"
"Um- what are you talking about sir?" I questioned nearly choking on my food.
"Well the adoption of course" Slughorn said with a look of satisfaction on his face. My eyes instantly went extremely wide as I dropped my fork onto the table. Hermione looked at me extremely shocked.
"What is he talking about Haley?" Hermione whispered to me.
"I um- I need to go" I said standing up before scurrying out of the room nearly tripping on the leg of Ginny's chair
"Well that was quite rude.. she didn't even thank me for dinner" Was the last thing I hear proffesor Slughorn say before I started running down the corridor. How could he know?
I ran up the long spiral staircase that led up to the 7th floor. Something was telling me to go there, I don't know why or how but something was telling me I needed to go there.
The second my foot stepped onto the floor. The door to the Room of Requirement appeared. I walked over to it quickly before opening it slowly. The room was not how I remembered it, It used to be a room of large bookshelf's where draco and I had our first kiss, and then a grand training room where I had trained to defend myself with my now best friends. But now it was just junk.
I walked throughout the room examining the junk that was spread around the room. Trash, books.. probably about everything that you could imagine. But i instantly paused when I heard something rustle from beyond a small bookshelf that was beside me. I instantly flinched before ducking behind it.
I wasn't alone
I moved a book that was resting on the bookshelf about an inch to the side so i could get a view. I saw a large cabinet. It looked identical to the one I saw in Borgia and Birks back in August.
And Draco was standing directly in front of it.
I watched as he put a large green apple in the cabinet before closing it shut. He waited a few moments before opening it up again. The apple had a large bite in it.
What was he doing?
Becoming quite scared I quickly moved towards the entrance of the Room of Requirement. I opened the door walking down the corridor quickly, my breathing heavy. I almost made it to the staircase when I felt someone grab my arm.
"What are you doing here?"
Startled I turned around quickly to see Draco starring directly at me, still holding the half bitten apple in his hand.
"I- I don't know" I said eyeing the apple in his hand before almost running down the corridor as i could feel his eyes follow me from behind.
