Echo's been acting weird since the mission a week ago, he seems to be acting weaker and you've noticed that he just keeps getting paler and paler.
You're scared that he's doing something to make himself sick, you have decided to confront him about it tonight. Right now you're waiting for him to get home, you feel so worried about him. You wait a few hours when the door opens, you see Echo walk in, he looks even paler than when he left and he's sluggish.
You stand up and walk over to him, he smiles sweetly and pulls you against him in a kiss. You sigh into it, you love him so much. You pull away and look at him, all you can feel is worry for him. He frowns at you.
"Is something wrong, Cyare?" You nod, you feel nervous. You don't know how he'll react to you asking him.
"Yes, are you sick? You've been so weak and sluggish lately, and your skin is pale." Echo doesn't know what to say, he knew that you would ask him sometime but he didn't think so soon. He remains silent and you grow even more worried. You cup his cheek.
"Please Echo, I know something's making you sick, I can't help you if you don't tell me, sweetheart." Echo lets out a sigh, he knows that he can't hide it from you.
"I... Something happened to me during the last mission." You nod, grabbing his hands and pulling him to your couch. He sits down beside you, he won't look at you for some reason so you put your hand under his chin and lift him up to face you.
"Whatever it is, we'll get through it together, Echo. You won't have to go through it alone, I promise." Echo nods his head, he hopes that you won't leave him when you find out, but it's a possibility. He takes a deep breath and starts explaining what happened.
"We were in a Separatist base, it had some human scientists in it. When we were fighting, a scientist snuck up behind me and stabbed me in the neck with a syringe." You breath in sharply, was Echo poisoned. Is that why he's been so weak, is Echo dying? You hold back tears as Echo continue's.
"We found out that what I was injected with was some kind of formula, and it... Well it turned me into something." You look at Echo, completely confused, what does he mean that it turned him into something?
"What do you mean Echo? I don't understand?" Echo huff's, this is it. This is when you leave him.
"It turned me into something called a vampire." A vampire! But those are only legends, have the Separatists really found a way to turn someone into a legendary creature. You look at Echo and see tears and fear in his eyes. You reach over and cup his cheek.
"Oh Echo, I'm not going to leave you. Like I said before we'll get through this, together." Echo nods, he feels so much love for you. But you realize that him being a vampire doesn't answer one question.
"Echo, that doesn't explain why you're so weak and pale. You weren't like this when you first got back" Echo looks at you, he looks guilty.
"I... Well I haven't been eating."
"What! Echo why the kriff haven't you been eating!" Echo flinches, he hates that he's going to have to tell you what his new diet is.
"Cyare, I don't eat normal food anymore. I have to drink blood, the Gar and Jedi are trying to create a substitute for it. But meanwhile it's either I drink someones blood, or I starve." You feel tears come to your eyes, Echo's been starving himself for a week. He's so scared of drinking someone's blood that he's starved himself. You blink the tears away and look him in the eyes.
"Drink mine." You tell him simply, he blinks in surprise, which is quickly replaced by protectiveness.
"Absolutely not, I will not drink your blood Cyare." You huff, you won't let your boyfriend die when he can just eat right here.
"Will it turn me?" You ask him and he sputters there.
"Well, no. But so many things could happen, what if I lost control and drank to much. I would never forgive myself if I hurt you cyare, I..." You cup his cheek softly, stopping him mid sentence. You pull his forehead against your own.
"You would never hurt me Echo, I have complete trust in you. Please let me help you." He smiles at you, eyes full of love. This is the first time he's given you a toothy smile, you had wondered why he had stopped giving them after the last mission but now you see why. He has sharp fangs now, you find them cute and they make him even more handsome.
"Are you sure?" He asks once more, giving you an out. But you would never take it, you nod. He takes a deep breath.
"Ok, just hold your neck out to me." He says and you tilt your neck out towards him, you see his pupils dialate and he sniffs. You can tell that he's scared, and trying to hold back.
"It's okay Echo, go ahead." He nods and finally bites down on your neck, you hiss in pain. It burns for a few minutes but then it stops and you relax.
Echo is drinking, you can tell that he was absolutely starving. He keeps going, and you let him. You start to get dizzy, but Echo seems to sense it and pulls himself away.
You're so tired that you can't even move, Echo gets up and leaves. You wonder what he's doing until he comes back changed into his civies and with bacta. He also has a square bandage.
He puts some bacta on your neck, the cooling gel feel's nice on the two puncture wounds, you sigh. You feel so tired now, Echo gets the bandage on your neck. He pulls you close and kisses the bandage softly, then he leans up and kisses you. He's already getting his color back.
"Thank you, are you okay Cyare." You just nod, you're almost to tired to sleep.
"Fine, just tired." You tell him, snuggling into his chest. It must be from losing that blood, Echo wraps his arms around you and hugs you close. He's so thankful to have you as his girlfriend, he hopes that they create a substitute for blood soon. He doesn't want to do that again.
You both fall asleep, cuddling eachother. You both are so in love with eachother, you will get through this. Together.
