POV: Sonic
Man, yesterday was a bummer. My ankle felt as if someone put it through a blender. I know, it doesn't look that bad on the surface, but let me tell you, this is one of the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. And on top of all that, I can't even distract myself from it because I can't even do my favorite thing; run. I have a lot of energy, and running was one of my favorite ways to use said energy. So, basically all I could do was lay on my bed and click through the never-ending channels on TV.
Every once and a while, Tails would come in and see if I needed anything. Luckily, I had just woken up, and Tails should be coming in at any time. Yesterday, he didn't come in alone, but with Amy. He said that she had begged him to be able to see me and that after a while, he just complied.
Just I suspected, I hear...wait?... two people coming up the stairs?
"Why do I have to watch that idiot?"
"Because I'm going out for the day, and you are the only one who's not doing anything today..."
I hear two voices arguing while they are ascending the staircase and going into the hallway. As I slowly hear them coming closer to my room, I grab my phone and open some app to act like I wasn't listening to their conversation. The door soon opens to Tails and...Shadow?!?
"Hey Sonic." Tails smiled at me and walked over to me to take a look at my ankle. It was like I had a personal doctor (lol). I looked at him dead into his eyes.
"Why is he here." I questioned, as Shadow just scoffed.
"You act like I want to be here faker. Your stupid friend told me to come." He rolled his eyes and leaned against the wall next to the door. I stared awkwardly at Shadow, who for some reason Tails asked to come. Tails then shot a glare at Shadow, which I think surprised him to some extent.
"I'm going out for the day, and Shadow here is going to watch you-" Shadow then cut the fox off. "Yeah and if I don't, he'll probably tell Rouge and she'll be up my a** about this as well." Shadow said with his arms crossed. I could tell that he'd rather be anywhere else then here with his arch-rival.
After Tails had left, I was stuck in complete silence, besides the occasional sighs by one of us. After a while, Shadow decided to break the ice which was rather odd to say.
"So, how's it being stuck here?" He asked me. I just sighed. "It's boring, let me tell you..." I say sadly. "You know you don't have to be here; I'll just tell Tails that you had to go on a mission or something..." I tell him. He shook his head, which surprised me. I looked at him with a shocked expression on his face. He noticed me, and then shrugged.
"It's alright. I really don't have anything better to do anyways." He stated. I was still shocked by his response. He usually not this nice to me, but I try my best to stay calm. "So, how's G.U.N.?" I say to start a conversation. He looks up from his phone and sets it down on top of my dresser.
"It's alright. I've been getting more missions during the holidays, but I manage..." He stated, sounding exhausted from his work. "Yeah; if it's like last year, Eggman's gonna start attacking way more than usual, knowing how busy I am."
"I just need a break..."
"I just need a break..." We both say at the same time. I chuckle a little while he smiles lightly; something you don't usually see too often.
After a while of talking, I fall asleep. When I wake up. Shadow's asleep in a chair next to my bed. So much for watching me huh? I look out of the window when I hear my door open with Tails. I immediately shushed him, pointing at Shadow. Neither of us would like to know what happens if you wake Shadow. Nevertheless, I decide to nudge him awake, telling him that he can go. When he wakes up, he blushes embarrassingly from falling asleep and chaos controls away.
"So, how was he?" Tails asked me. I smiled and patted him on the head. "It was alright, but next time, could you please tell me who you are gonna send?" I say as I move my hand off of him and sit up.
"Alright."
