The Doctor and Clara are standind still, staring at the night sky of an alien planet as the remaining sparks of an inhabitant creature fall, after its farewell. Clara doesn't think twice: the obvious conclusion is that the creature was now dead. But when it comes to different species, things aren't so simple. This story is just a quick note from an idea I had several months ago (it seems my main talent is to write one shots and notes LOL). I've been thinking about the different concepts of life and death that would exist between distinct species, according to their particular physiology and culture, for I'm planning an epic story centered on these subjects and placed at LOTR's universe, but I was missing my notes of DW so, here it is. Also, I used to take notes of potential dialogues on my old phone but lost many of these texts. Fortunately, I could remember the essential parts of this note in particular, and re-wrote it to post here. Maybe I will bring other notes to AO3, but my plans are other at the moment. I hope you enjoy!
