Adeline has nothing. Her family is gone, and no one dares to speak up to the totalitarian government. She joins the resistance, wanting her country back, taking a vow to free France. She's tasked with finding intelligence. Adeline knows that she's supposed to hate the soldiers and their government. However, she stumbles into a young soldier guarding the city, and although a bit awkward, he's kind to her; a complete shock from what she has witnessed. And as she gets to know him, everything she thought she knew dissolves from her like mist.
