Ever since her mother died, Ara has been trying to fill that gap for her siblings. She cooks every meal, cleans, takes her siblings to and from school and does everything that her mother did before she got sick. She's decided to commit her life to taking care of her family but has never thought of herself as sacrificing anything. Then, Eli Brown, the school's most overhyped clueless jock, asks her out and that all changes. He represents everything Ara hates, she doesn't know him very well but from the company he keeps, (like his creepy red pill best friend, Liam and his mean girl ex, Megan) she knows his type and decides she wants nothing to do with him. Eli doesn't give up without a fight though and when he's told that he needs to get his english grades up or say goodbye to his dreams of college football he picks Ara as his tutor, a role that she is not allowed to refuse, given that she signed up for the programme 😬. This is a situation that is less than ideal for Ara but the more time she spends with Eli the more she finds that maybe he isn't as bad as she thought he was, and maybe Eli has a lot more to learn from her than just English...
