Everyone loves a Fairy Tale, At least that's what people say, But life isn't a fairy tale, Everyone is sick of the old cliché. The Love at First Sight. The Happily Ever After. Of course, 'love at first sight' doesn't exist, and 'happily ever after' is something which has to be worked for. But, Fairy Tale endings are cliché because we miss the point of the story in the first place: It is not about the happy ending. It is about the journey to get there. THIS is no Red Riding Hood story. This tale's roots lay in deeper and older places. When details weren't glossed over, and the happily ever after was not so sure. The star of this twisted tale: Deirdre of the Sorrows, the mythological Irish 'Helen of Troy.' Cinderella forever trapped at the stroke of midnight. Snow White stuck in the glass box. Sleeping Beauty never to be kissed. Perhaps, this time, this lovely fairy tale maiden can escape her fate. Now please, my reader, enjoy the fairy tale in my cliché. Warning: Contains one sexy Latin crime lord. Also contains one kick-ass Irish woman a girl can look up to. Explosive temper alert. Maintain 20 yard perimeter at all times.
