When I'm facing writer's block, I simply call a friend of mine, although you should sit down with a parent... usually your mom. Moms have some bomb ideas. Anyway, I sit down and say "So I want it to be like <insert topic> at the start but I want to end it with <insert topic>. I don't want it to sound bland and boring, I want it to be somewhat long but not too long where people start checking their watches or glancing at the clock." So think of, for something like this, think of like 8 topics, that's 2 for each year of high school that felt impacted you the most and correlate that with corresponding quotes from a couple famous people. Don't veer off topic too far but be sure to throw in some humor. I remember half of my graduation speech was cracking jokes and roasting both students and staff. Keep your head on your shoulders, breathe, empty your mind, then dive into the task.
