Just Like Your Texts

Our eyes met
Just for a second
And I flinched, but you were calm
Not butterflies but caterpillars were crawling in my stomach

I sensed fear
Not because of you
But what all has had and can happen
By you in future

You, from then on, popped up in my head
Just like your texts
And everytime I needed to swipe you off
To do what was important

The only difference now is
The notifications are blocked
I read your texts only when I want to
But I don't reply

(This poem has symbolism comparing the person you once loved as their text messages you know..)
