Lena's: POV
I'm here sitting in front row at my father in laws funeral listening to the pastor give the eulogy about how Franklin Foster Sr was a upstanding devoted husband father and grandfather. He leaves behind two daughters Alexandra and Stephanie, one daughter in law Lena foster Adams
Too granddaughters Francesca and Callie was his proud and joy. His beautiful wife Elizabeth who has been married to for twenty five years, he served as police deputy for the sixteen district for 30 years. He will be truly missed, today is a celebration of his life. Franklin was a family man, different people came up to the podium and shared one memory they had of Franklin
Lena held her wife's hand Francesca leaning her head on mothers shoulder. Alex who was sitting beside her mom
Elizabeth continued to cry, Stef knew it was going to be hard for her mother living all alone in that big house without her dad's presence. Once everyone paid they respects, the pallbearers came in to carry the casket out to the hearse after closing the gray coffin. The four men lifted up casket and carried it out the church, Stef Lena
Alex and Elizabeth followed behind the man. Lena slipped on her sunglasses holding Stef's hand, the limo driver held the door open for them to get inside. None said anything. Alex's eyes were red and swollen from crying
The driver begins to drive to the grave site, Elizabeth tried to hold back her tears but she was thankful she had girls to keep her grounded, if it wasn't for them she would have broken down already. Other vehicles were following behind, Lena's parents were at the memorial service,
She didn't get a chance to talk with them afterwards
Lena knew she had to be strong for her wife and daughter
What concerned her most was how her mother in law Elizabeth seemed to holding it together, Lena knows people handled grief differently. It took every bit of self control not to break down, Francesca barely said a word since they arrived in town yesterday afternoon. Since she was close to her grandfather, the car began to slow down
As they pulled up to the cemetery where Franklin would be buried at. The driver opens the door up for them all to exit out, we walked down the hill to get to the grave site
All the guest were standing waiting on us. Pastor Jeremiah
Said the Lord's prayer before beginning the second part of the service. Everybody bowed their heads in a moment of silence, Elizabeth looked over to see some of her husband's friends from the precinct just showed up and then Elizabeth noticed a woman with red hair she's never seen before. Stef happened to see the expression on her mother's face, she followed her Elizabeth's glaze and saw the unknown woman who was standing over by the tree
Weeping quietly. Pastor Jeremiah ended the prayer and proceeded to thank everyone for joining in to celebrating Franklin's life, the older man begin speaking. Everyone took turns going up to the casket and laid white roses on top of the coffin leaving the family sitting on the front row
Elizabeth kept looking over at the tree where the redhead once was leaning by the tree she noticed the older woman must have left the cemetery, Elizabeth didn't have the energy to confront her late husbands mistress today
She loved Franklin even though he had his faults
He was a good father provide and husband. Elizabeth knew he broken off the affair with the woman, she just didn't understand why she would show her face at the gravesite, Elizabeth knows her daughters would have questions. About the mysterious visitor Stef and Alex helped their mother up we're they starting walking over to the coffin to say there final goodbyes before Franklin was lower down into the ground, Alex dropped the rose on the casket and Stef along with Lena at her side
Laying theirs down gently giving Elizabeth some time alone. Alex and Stef went to thank everybody for coming out, Lena went to check up on her daughter Francesca
Who was sitting next to her parents. Stewart hugged Lena
We're going to head back to the house Lena's mother Dana
Said, mommy can I go back Nana and Papa Francesca asked her mom. Sure sweetheart I know it's been a long emotional day for you Lena told her little girl as she hugs Francesca,
