What do I have that you cannot?

A constraint in my heart

Curbed from the start.

The loneliness of my being

As cruel as it may seem.

The awakening of my past

That never seems to last.

With every moment it has brought

Is what I have that you cannot.

What can I have that you cannot?

The rhythm of my blues

The darkest colour in every hue

The envy of my flame

The agony with every pain.

Every bit of it, I have got

Is what I can have that you cannot.

What have I that you cannot?

The mind of my insanity

The horror of my dreams

The darkest hours of every night

And the terror in my screams.

With every torment that it has brought

Is that I have what you cannot.

What shall I have that you cannot?

A heart with an ache

Of every suffering that one can take.

With remorse and guilt

Of every sin that it has built.

And tears that have rolled

from the loneliness of my soul.

Till the day shall I rot

Is what I shall have that you cannot.
