Today was Thanksgiving. Was I excited for it? No. Not at all. I was going to visit my mom today and I was scared as fuck. I didn't want her cussing me out again today. I had a really bad feeling about today, but I always made sure that I tried to come see her on the holidays. I still love my momma regardless of how she treats me. Why? I don't know, but that's my momma.

Right now she was in a hotel and I didn't know why or how she got it but she was and I was ok with that. As long as she was ok that's all k cared about. My brother was of course with me since I needed a translator. He didn't too much care about seeing her because he emotionally checked out on my mom a long ass time ago. I think I was the only person left on this earth who still loved her. That was ok. As long as she knew that someone loved her. Regardless of how I was brought up.

Do you think she'll be high?

When isn't she high, Laz?

I sighed at his response feeling slightly irritated at his attitude about this and walked ahead of him going into the hotel building. He rolled his eyes as we made our way to the elevator since we already knew the hotel room.

You don't have to come if you don't want to. Trust me it's fine. I'll just sit with her in silence if I have to. I don't want you being negative.

Me being negative? She's nothing but negative energy my nigga! Do you not remember the shit she did to you? The shit she did to me? The shit she's said? I'm sorry bro, but I'm not about to pretend everything is rainbows and cupcakes to make you feel better. You need to stop acting delusional like we're a normal happy family when we're not and react accordingly. You let her get away with too much.

She sour momma...if it was the other way around she wouldn't give up on us! She's on drugs. She can't help that! It's not her fault.

Keep sympathizing with a crackhead if you want to. It'll do nothing but make you cry.

I didn't reply after that and walked down the hall with him to her room. I knocked on the door and waited for it to open and when it did she looked at us before walking away leaving the door open. So far so good I guess.

I sighed and closed the door behind me and walked back into the bedroom seeing her lying back in her bed watching Judge Mathis reruns on the TV. She smells...like soap. Is she sober?

Translate this Landon...Ma are you sober?

She said yes. Been that way for 2 days now.

What really?! Why?! Are you going to rehab?

Yea.

Are you serious?

Yea.

I'm proud of you ma. We're going to order food cause you know today is Thanksgiving right? We want to have dinner with you...Landon, I said we why'd you sign I?
