KAIA GRIPPED HER flashlight tightly within her hands, her knuckle braces decorating both of her hands with her knife strapped to her thigh. She was dressed head to toe in the black combat outfits that she and Aiden had ordered (she blamed it entirely on Aiden but she did play a large role in it). She was perched in a crouch between Ashlyn and Aiden as she and Aiden were pointing their flashlights down towards the ground where the phantoms were stood.
They had just finished up setting the lights up around the perimeter of the walls after working on it for the past week. Though the only issue with the entire thing was, that while they kept the phantoms at bay, they also alerted them of their presence for a long while. Not only that, but the light doesn't actually seem to kill the phantoms, it just seems to make them lose their form and morph into something that was somehow even more terrifying than they already are. So if anything, Kaia was glad they avoided the light not because it kept them away from them, but because it stopped them from growing even worse in appearance.
Though if Kaia was to be honest, a part of her wasn't all that worried about the fact they were flocking to them like birds. Most of them will be far too distracted by the various traps the seven had spent forever setting up during the day time. Not only that, but she and Ashlyn had spent the past month planning every little detail about this plan out step by step and the group had all run through simulations of the plan a million times over. Ashlyn's parents jeep was the first step in their long term goal of getting them all out of this place and they were all so close to getting it.
