Akanksha:
I was genuinely happy when Dhruv tried to have a conversation with me. I was his fan afterall. I was soo excited to even stand next to him! I kept a calm and straight face the entire time as work was important, but I was literally jumping on the inside.

I was surprised that he was so interested in my personal life. When he asked what my type was, I was startled.

I was reluctant and happy about our conversation at the same time. I was happy that he did take interest in me and told to drop honourifics and talk like a friend. At the same time, I was also concerned about why he was so interested in me initially. I let the thought slide. I didn't want to overthink it.

I thought it was probably because of my work.
As soon as Dhruv walked out of the room, Ananya started jumping and smiling next to me.

"NO WAY! Did you see the way he was looking at you? He's definitely into you." Said Ananya excitedly.

"Enna ma sollitu irukka? Ennoda work avarukku puditchirukku. Adha yen ivlo perusa solra?" Akanksha said bluntly.
(What are you even saying? He likes my work. Why are you making this a big deal?)

"It IS a big deal! I asked the questions but he replied looking at you. I was surprised that he even noticed me inside the room." Ananya replied excitedly.

I just decided to ignore her. I felt like he admired my work. I was content with that. Moreover, Ananya would just tease me with anyone.

Both Ananya and I turned around when we heard something on the speakers.

The event had begun.

Ananya and I immediately went out and watched the event from the side.

There were several cameramen clicking pictures of Dhruv and Maya from several angles.

When I saw Maya, I felt like I was looking a celestial nymph. She looked absolutely gorgeous! She wore a saree that made it impossible for me to look away.

Maya and Dhruv were childhood friends. They played the lead roles in several movies and honestly, I loved their onscreen presence together. Maya was literally my idol. She was charming, kind, anything a guy would want.

Dhruv:
I couldn't think when she was working on me. Her face looked so gorgeous up close that I couldn't look away. It's not like I didn't try to. I just couldn't.

I tried my best not to sound creepy when I asked her questions. I was glad that she took it sportively. Frankly, it was hard for me read her expressions. No matter what I said, she simply kept a pleasant smile on her face. She wasn't very expressive about what she really felt.

As I walked down to the photoshoot, I saw Maya. She was wearing a black saree.

"You're looking great Maya." Dhruv complimented her with a smile.

"And you look dumb no matter what you do to your face Dhruv." She replied teasingly with a grin on her face.

I looked at her with fake anger and we both burst into laughter.

"But seems like someone did a good job. You do look better than usual. Just a little less dumber." She said sarcastically.

"The makeup artist really did do a great job. She's very skilled. I like her work." I said.
"I liked her more" I thought but kept it to myself.

Both of us left for the photoshoot.
At the photoshoot, I saw Akanksha standing with her arms folded next to her friend who helped with my makeup. I couldn't help but look at her. She saw me and gave me her usual pleasant smile.

Aayush came up to me and whispered in my ear "Look around. The cameras are everywhere. She's not a photographer." He said. He was teasing me but he was a little serious this time.

I nodded and looked around after violent efforts of tearing my eyes off her.

"By the way, who is that girl next to Akanksha?" He asked me.

"I don't know. She was helping Akanksha with my makeup. I didn't speak much to her, so I'm not exactly sure. Why do you ask?" I asked.

"Nothing." He replied with a tinge of annoyance. I felt like he was hiding something.

Something was definitely up. Everytime Akanksha came around, Aayush kept looking. I initially thought he was looking at her because of what I said but now I think I know where this was going.

I just nodded at his reply and turned away.

Throughout the event, I kept stealing glances of Akanksha. After the event was done, it was packup time. I didn't want to miss my final chance. Right after the event got over, I decided to try my luck.

"You did amazing today!" She said as she saw me walking towards her.

"Thank you. It's thanks to your work. I'm truly impressed by your skill. Many professionals have worked on me but this look you made is my absolute favourite." I said. I wasn't lying because I liked her. She definitely had skill.

"My pleasure. I'm happy that you liked my work. You already have a charming and alluring face. I just tried my best to enhance it." She replied.

She finds me alluring and charming? I better test my luck right now. This is the moment! It's now or never!

"May I have your number please?" I asked in the most polite tone I could.

"Oh sure." She said and took out a card.

"This is our company's official number. You can call and ask for profess---"

"No, I mean your personal number." I cut in.

She stared at me blankly. Once again, I had difficulties reading her expressions.

"I really like your work. I was hoping to offer you more opportunities when I come across them. It would be a great platform to showcase your skills." I said with a professional look on my face.

I tried to sound as convincing as I could, hoping that she buys it.

"Oh thank you Dhruv! I'll be delighted to have such opportunities! This is my number." She said smiling as she wrote down the number on the card she was about to give me.

"If fate allows, I hope we meet again." I said.

"I hope so too." She said smiling.

We both shook a goodbye handshake and parted ways.
