When I taught you at two
How to tie your own shoes
You struggled,
Were confused,
It took time
For you to figure out
How
To tie them
Just right,
And you wanted to
Stay up late
Practicing tying your shoes
Until you could
Finally do it
On your own
Now you don't need me
Any more,
Cause I taught you how to tie
Your own shoes,
So now you do it
Yourself.
