Chapter 3

"Hey!" Oliver James grinned as he sat down next to my in English.

"Hi." I gave him a soft smile.

"I saw you at the game on Friday." Oliver said happily. "But you left at half time?" He frowned, setting his bag down on the floor next to his chair.

"Uh yea, I uh, my dad and I went out of town." I replied, nervously tucking my hair behind my ear. "Family stuff."

"Well it was fun seeing you in the stands." He smiled, his eyes meeting mine. "So about the project! I figured we could get started sooner rather than later?" He offered.

"Uh yea sure whenever." I nodded, trying not to make eye contact.

"You could come over after school today?" Oliver suggested, raising his eyebrows.

My heart jumped into my throat.

Going over to a boy's house??

"Uh, yea sure that would work." I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest.

"Great. Do you drive?" He asked curiously.

I shook my head. "Nope." I said softly.

"No worries. We don't have practice today because our coach is out of town, so I can just drive you." Oliver smiled.

I nodded. "Sounds good." I said softly, turning to face the teacher as she started teaching.

Jessica still wasn't talking to me, and it was driving me insane right now.

Because all I wanted to do was talk to my best friend about the fact that I was going over to a hot boy's house today after school...

"My siblings are home but they probably won't bother us." Oliver James told me as we got out of his truck.

I'd always thought trucks were big and bothersome, but right now, it was hot as hell.

Jessica had gotten into my head and I was stuck in the mentality that something was going to happen with him, but I knew full well that it wasn't. So I had to get it out of my head.

"Uh Brian is 10, he's obsessed with anything that has to do with trucks. And Audrey is 7, she thinks she's a princess." Oliver laughed as we walked up to the front door.

I just nodded, tucking my hair behind my ear as he pulled out his keys.

"OJ!" A little girl called immediately as we walked into the house. She gasped, stopping dead. "You brought a girl! Can we do a tea party?!"

"We've got to do homework, go find mom." Oliver said dismissively.

The girl was absolutely adorable, wearing a little Cinderella dress with a tiara on her head.

"No, no we can just do a tiny tea party." I said quickly, unsure if I was overstepping my bounds already. "A tiny tea party wouldn't hurt."

I was met with a look of joy from the seven year old and a nervous look from Oliver.

"Fine. Fifteen minutes, and then we have to get some work done. Where's Brian?" Oliver asked as the little girl started heading up the stairs.

Audrey shrugged, trailing her wand along the wall as she walked upstairs.

"Audrey." Oliver sighed, taking the wand from her hand. "Don't mess up the paint."

Audrey pouted, causing him to sigh and give the wand back.
