I hope one day

I hope you understand this ache in your heart will vanish,

One day your heart will race to show it's excitement.

The scars of the past won't exist,

They'll turn to the marks of a warrior.

You cry yourself to sleep at night,

Your eyes say you're unwell.

But love, in this world of doom,

You are the only light that shines.

Hoping, wishing, praying,

For life to pass so fast.

It will, my dear, it will.

And you'll miss the days that didn't last.

This world of coloured madness,

Seems a black and white mess to you.

Just open your eyes and you'll see,

The endless colours floating around.

I know it seems unfair,

Hardships coming only your way.

But you're more than even a survivor,

You have so much potential within.

I hope one day you realise,

The unimaginable light you hold inside.

I hope one day even I,

Start believing the things I write.
