like sand through fingers;
departing like a
perfidious lover.

identities of infidels,
of sinful allies, of greedy
pieces of flesh,
pieces of smoke,
pieces of

identities:

once a fiery calm
then a fragile storm,
a circle that goes on
and on and on and
it breaks into a tangent—

nothingness evolves into
a spectrum of possibilities
but my identity shifts
from one end to another,
it jumps and grows tired:
it lies down and feels dead.

time softens into a haze,

the light seeks what darkness hides:
