A lot of learning a language is memorization, and this is what I want you to memorize before we move on to personal pronouns and present indicative. You need to (1) know the basic greetings of Spanish and (2) know the months of the year, days of the week, etc. The sets are down below. I highly suggest writing them down over and over until you memorize them, as writing something has been proven to help you grasp it better than hearsay or electronically.

Greetings:

Hola: Hello.

¿Cómo estás?: How are you?

¿Cómo te llamas?: What is your name?

Me llamo [your name]: My name is [your name]

Perdón: Pardon.

Lo siento: I'm sorry.

Hásta pronto: See you soon.

Hásta luego: See you later.

Ádios: Goodbye (Note: You say this if you're not going to be seeing the person again. In other cases use the other two "goodbye" greetings.)

Buenos días: Good morning.

Buenos tardes: Good afternoon/good evening.

Buenas noches: Good night.

Disculpe: excuse me.
