Prologue

[for the Pencil Prize competition]           

"Love is like an hourglass, with the heart filling up as the brain empties."

 On the last day of high school, Sasha Collins sent a love letter to her longtime crush, Tyler Ellis. She did it recklessly, thinking that there was no way in hell that they would end up living in the same state, much less the same college. On the first day of her new life, far away from everything she’s ever known, she runs into someone from her past. And guess who it is? Freaking Tyler Ellis. 

Author's note: Take your risks. Sometimes it's worth it to throw away all inhibitions and just jump straight into a situation. Really, what do you have to lose? For the girls who are too shy to take the jump, fearing the fall, because sometimes, there will be someone at the bottom to catch you.
