The doctor's words were ringing in her mind..."forced sexual interaction...suicide" the tears refused to dry but she controlled herself
"Ma, Pa, we need to take didi home...we need to perform the last rites" she told consoling her parents
"No it is not possible to take it before the police enquiry is complete" the nurse told
"As it is she is no more now please don't delay her last rites. Atleast let her soul be free" she pleaded
The nurse just kept quiet and went from there.
"Lavanya Sharma" the police officer enquired
The receptionist guided him to the doctor's chamber.
"Welcome inspeactor" told the doctor shaking hands
He called for Shivani and her parents
"So Mr. Verma tell us about your daughter" police officer asked
"sir she was our whole and sole, she was the bread winner of our family" he told wiping tears from his eyes continuously
"Hmmm where did she work" he asked
"Raichand group" he answered
Listening to the name he thought the biggies name is there, he ought to handle this carefully.
"ok we shall start the investigation" he told
"Sir may I request you to hand over the body" Shivani asked
He confirmed from the doctor if the post mortem was complete
When he told that it was, he gave them the permission to take the body.
As her body was wheeled out of the morgue covered in that white shroud, her parents just broke down.
She couldn't lay her eyes on her sister's body. she looked the other way and tears stremed down her cheeks
"Please control yourselves" the nurse was telling her parents
"Ma'am please" she heard the nurse call for her
She looked at her.
"Here please see that she only is your sister" she requested
How could see and tell? Her sister was jovial and always smiling and this person lying there was motionless....lifeless.
Gathering courage she did look at her sister. Her heart whispered to her
"Stay strong. Your sister's death should not go in vain. This is the last time you would see her"
She looked at the corpse. Her face was emotionless but she could hear her screams. She imagined herself in her place...how hard she would tried...how hard she must have pleaded...how hard it would have been to bear....
"Di..I shall not leave them" she told hugging the dead body
The entire staff at the hospital looked in despair. They had seen many deaths but the way life had ended for Lavanya, even they could not hide their tears.
Suddenly shivani was awake on her bed.
She had relived those years again.....every day she had this dream where her sister was calling out to her for help.
She drank a glass of water and went to the washroom.
Suddenly her phone rang
"Betu..betu" it was Dev
"What happened Dev" she asked concerned
"That Anish, he is a ....." he couldn't accept the behaviour of Anish
"What happened to Anish" she questioned as she wanted to know desperately
"He is a gay and he told his feelings today and when I didn't reciprocate he hit me hard" he told in pain
"Oh that is so sad" she pretended to be shocked
She was deported to that time again. 5 years back when her sister had died.
Few days after the death of Lavanya, raghu kaka went to meet them.
"It is very sad that this incident happened" he told sadly
"Hmmm it is very unfortunate" said her ailing dad
"Did you get to know about the culprit" he asked
Her dad started crying.
"What happened" he asked
"They are telling that my daughter was a prostitute and for the fear of us coming to know she commited suicide" he told crying inconsolably
Raghu kaka was angry and shocked to hear this
"How could they? I know just because he is a rich guy he can't go away like this" Raghu told angrily
"What do you mean" asked Shivani who was listening to their conversation
He realised that in anger he had spilled the beans
He started walking out of there
"Please chachu..if ever we meant anything to you tell us the truth" she begged
"Raichand is after all this. She killed herself in the bungalow" saying so he left from there
Shivani just lost her balance and fell on the floor.
she remembered the awesome memories she had with her sister and she felt too lonely without her.
"I wont leave you Raichand" she promised herself
Present day she was happy that her plan had worked.
"What have you planned to do now" she asked Dev
"My mind is block..I can't think anything" he answered
"Ok then let us firgure out and shall call you. You don't worry we will tackle him appropriately" she told and hung the phone
She looked towards the sky and wondered
