When you're working on the rhythm in your poems and making sure some words have similar sounds so that they feel connected, one thing to also take a look at is how those sounds also impact the mood of your poem. Words with harsher sounds will portray a darker, edgier mood. Meanwhile, words with softer sounds (i.e., the word "bubble") will have a lighter, happier mood.
In my poem Neon Stranger, which you saw a sample of in the previous section, I used a combination of both softer and harsher sounds to portray a sense of uncertainty/to create contrast between the quieter moments and the "louder" moments.
Ultimately, the mood of the poem will help evoke emotion for the reader.
A tip for writing or revising your poems is to read the words out loud. This will allow you to catch the words that sound forced and out of place.
