Hoorah! I just marked Goblin Queen as complete! Now to make some edits though fully pointed out by readers, but it’s always such a great feeling to write those final words.

          The pill had kicked in by now, at least. My calves were pleasantly rubbery. My head was   thick, forcing my thoughts to crawl through a dampening fog. They couldn't dance and light fires as usual. It was nice. The crazy train that was my life may have been steaming straight toward a wall, but for this moment, at least, I could decouple the caboose and drift along the tracks at my own speed.

Man! This was a tough chapter. I wasn’t sure exactly where to take it even though it was a pivotal piece of the story. Then I decided to tackle the difficult task of writing in Andy Kaufman as a character. I think I did him justice in the end, though. If he managed the powers of the gods, I’m pretty sure this is how things would go.

I’ve started republishing Goblin Queen after an overhaul to include COVID as well as clarify some of the narrator’s motivations. After some reflection, I think I’ll be finishing it out while I also work to finish Dirty Rotten Demigods.
