Shut Up and Write is excited to announce that we are currently seeking writers to join our team of book reviewers. As an active and well-established community, our mission has always been to support writers in improving their craft. We believe that one of the best ways to achieve this is by providing opportunities for writers to review books. 
          
          This is where you come in. We are searching for individuals who are comfortable with reading and analyzing other people's work, providing constructive feedback, and meeting deadlines. As a member of our book review team, you will be responsible for writing a brief bio that will be included with our list of reviewers. When someone submits a book for review, they will have the opportunity to tag you in the submission form.
          
          As a book reviewer, you will have access to a wide range of books across various genres, giving you the chance to expand your reading horizons while honing your analytical skills. You will also have the opportunity to connect with other writers and book lovers, and contribute to our community's growth and development.

Shut Up and Write are looking for talented writers and designers for a fun new group project starting soon. We are currently looking for several writers to assist with the planning and maintaining our writing magazine. During this project we will be creating one edition of a new writing magazine with the possibility of more editions in the future. By joining our team of writers you will be responsible for writing and editing your own work to the standards we expect and making sure you submit your work before the deadline. 
          
          We are looking for writers to take on a role within the magazine, for example 
          
          Writers
          Advisors
          Designers
          Etc

          This is our take on Snakes and Ladders with added small writing activities and prompts. There won’t be any judges for the Board Game, but the rules are simple.
          
          • You’ll need access to our main server where the game will take place
          
          • Roll a dice on our server 
          
          • Which ever prompt you land on (if you land on one) is the one you write 
          
          • You’ll need to write your prompt before your next roll. Usually you will get 48 hours to roll the dice.
          
          • You can’t roll again until you’ve completed it.

Dear @Wattpad, I’m a female writer on your platform and like others here I would like to be able to use a picture of myself as my profile picture WITHOUT attracting random weirdo’s trying to chat me up via your messaging service. I don’t want to be told I’m beautiful by men I do not know, or want to know. I don’t want to log onto my account (this account) and have multiple messages saying ‘Hi’ from guys who are not interested in me as a writer, but to try and chat me up and get me to give them my phone number. I’ve had men ask me to use WhatsApp, which means they’d see my number. 
          
          I am adult, but what if I wasn’t. What if I was a vulnerable young girl, fourteen or fifteen years old who wasn’t knowledgable about internet weirdos and naively gave them my number? 
          
          You need to think about this @wattpad or this site will fail to be a safe place for writers of all ages, genres and abilities. This will no longer be a decent site. But a predators lair. Sort this out, Wattpad before you lose members.

Teddy isn’t very well. 
          
          A few years ago he was diagnosed with Idiopathic Cystitis which can be a life threatening bladder condition. Recently, he has had a relapse which has lead to him spending a couple of days so far in the vets in Mansfield Woodhouse. 
          
          The cost of his treatment is £1,700. Due to the cost of living crisis and caring for a sick and elderly relative this is something we are struggling with. 
          
          Please help keep Teddy alive. Without this treatment we won’t have any choice but to allow a vet to end his suffering.

We all have shit to deal with in life, but my god, 2024 sure knows how to throw shit my way. 
          
          Over the last week or two my grandma has been unwell, and now today, while still trying to get everything sorted out for her, one of our cats is ill. He has something called idiopathic cystitis and his bladder was full of blood. We’ve more or less been told that if we can’t get him to eat he will probably have to have him put to sleep, which is utterly heartbreaking as he’s not an old cat. So if I’m quiet, if I don’t post for a while and if you can’t contact me at @shutupandwriteclub, I am probably dealing with this.
