Jovan "Von" Gathings

Von Gathings is a native of Chicago, IL. He resided in the Bronzeville, Grand Crossing, and South Shore Neighborhoods and was a graduate of South Shore High School's School of the Arts. Von also served in the United States Navy from 2008 to 2012. Afterward, he graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, with a major in Communication Studies where he was awarded the Outstanding Senior in Communication Studies along with graduating Cum Laude in 2015. Von also graduated from the Unversity of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's School of Labor and Employment Relations with a Master's in Human Resources and Industrial Relations in December 2016. Jovan has had professional tenures in the fields of Human Resources, Secondary Education, Workforce Development, Adult Education, and Journalism.
