Hi, I’m Kim Harrison, New York Times bestselling author best known for the urban fantasy series, The Hollows, though I actually got my big break writing traditional fantasy under the name Dawn Cook. I've written YA (Madison Avery), graphic novels (Blood Work), and a coffee table world book (The Hollows Insider.)

I’ve been writing for over two decades, (most of that published!) and the best days are still those where I don’t have anything on my schedule but to sit in my office and work with my latest project, tweaking, adjusting, or even better, writing that first, ugly, raw rough draft. When I do venture into the real world, I love shopping the yarn shops, antique malls, or even better, a plant nursery to find a new addition to my yard. Just like my work, my yard is in a constant state of tweaking as I try to turn my beige thumb green. My latest “dragon to slay" is learning to golf.

Right now, the Hollows still has two more books to go to reach that final, hopefully happy, ending—which means I’ve been working a lot on what comes next. Don’t panic, there is one more book after the February 2014 release of The Undead Pool. Though I’m not saying much on my WIP, you can pick up bits and pieces in my blog posts at wordpress or my facebook page. (Short and sweet, think Borne Identity meets Paycheck)
