My name is Stuart and I'm the author of the Gorgeous George series of children's books. You've probably never heard of them; don't worry, not many people have but I've perfromed at over 450 schools, libraries and book festivals in the last 2 years

My first book 'Gorgeous George and the Giant Geriatric Generator' was released in August 2011 and was awarded Silver Seal at the Forward National Literature Awards in America and chosen as ‘One of our Top Picks of 2012’ by the Daily Record’s Book Club.

Book number 2 was called 'Gorgeous George and the Zigzag Zit-faced Zombies' and came out in January 2013, followed by book three 'Gorgeous George and the Unidentified Unsinkable Underpants' in October the same year. The majority of my books are sold at my events, so they don't  show on Nielson’s statistics but I became a full-time author in February 2012 and it's still paying the bills.

I suppose I'm pretty immature, dedicated to having fun and getting into trouble. Once I celebrated scoring a goal by kissing a lollypop lady and I broke my nose by running into a lamp-post with his jumper pulled up over his head.

For 25 years I was boring, professional and corporate, my creativity stifled by my tie and my fun-loving attitude suppressed by the weight of career responsibility, as senior manager in retail and hotel industries in the UK and Dubai. 

Finally, my life of immature madness has returned with books about bums, bogies and bottom burps!

I hope I am considered by head teachers and librarians to be one of Britain’s most inspiration and enthusiastic children’s authors, performing to over 80,000 pupils, teachers and parents, including my Edinburgh Festival debut in 2013, with 36 appearances and a sell-out run of 25 shows. I've appeared at Forth FM’s Gilded Balloon, on ITV's Daybreak, Channel4, as well as working with BBC Learning.

Married for over twenty years, I have two children, a superman outfit and a spiky haircut. 

Book 4 comes out in March 2014.
