lepus, my girl, how is your 2022 onc entry going?! i’m anxiously awaiting its arrival!! 

Hi everyone!!
          
          So, now that everything has simmered down and been sorted out with the ONC situation…who’s excited?? I haven’t written any real stories since ONC two whole years ago, unless you count my little attempt last year that didn’t go anywhere (still sorting through that story, btw). ONC is my favorite time of the year over here and I’m totally ready to bite off more than I can chew again.
          
          Anyhow, thoughts on this one? Are you participating? Do you have any ideas so far? Of course the prompts haven’t gone up yet, but do you know a genre you plan on writing for or a character that’s been in your mind?
          
          For those who have done ONC before, what do you plan on doing the same and what do you plan on doing differently this year? Consider those the Lepus questions (:
          
          I will, of course, be writing histfic. I will also, possibly and depending on what the prompts are, be writing two stories. A ways back @Di_Rossi told me I should try my hand at writing middle-grade histfic and I’ve been considering it ever since, so we’ll see what happens with that one.
          
          What I end up doing all depends on the prompts, but I have one funky little story that I definitely want to tell (that’s more in line with what I usually write), and another that might end up out there. The latter is the one I already have a title for, of course. Because that’s how that works out.

Hi all!
          
          So, Lepus news for 2022…
          
          1. I’m /finally/ doing all my big ol edits on ‘Parallel.’ I got a ton of great feedback on that story, and I’ll be adjusting a lot of things — mostly small pieces and adding some more details, but also adding more to James’s role because a lot of people who read the story weren’t really sure what his point was (and I didn’t really, either). Once they’re up I’ll replace the old cover with a new one I just made.
          
          2. ‘Something but the Truth’ is…still in limbo. However, there’s some stuff going on with that, too, behind the scenes. Horses are being held.
          
          3. New story?? Because I can’t ever leave anything alone and just work on what I haven’t finished yet. I have a new idea that I’m really excited about, but also I plan on waiting until ONC prompts are up and I might use it for that if one of them fits.
          
          4. My ‘This Day in History’ histfic challenge is up and running and…nobody has written anything for it yet. Fair. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the book on my page! It has a light blue cover (I’d link it here but my links are being weird).
          
          5. Lepus question! Do you have any writing or reading or other art/creating new year’s resolutions for 2022? If not that’s cool too, but if you do, share them down below!

          I was going to start promoting this on New Year’s Eve but what’s another day or two? Anyhow, here’s my contribution to the “someone please write histfic” cause.
          
          This is my little short story challenge. More information is inside but, basically, pick a day and write histfic based on something that happened on that day. Pretty much anything is fair game as long as it fits that theme. The chapter for January is posted, so if you’re interested in writing something, check it out! If you’re thinking “but Lepus, I hate history,” try writing a short story, you might surprise yourself (:

Hi everyone!
          
          So, I just submitted my last final paper/exam of the semester, which means show's over, folks! I'm going to start writing again, beginning with Aim to Engage and picking Something But the Truth back up again (shoutout to Di_Rossi for helping me try to figure out what's going on with that one).
          
          However, I'm brewing something else that I'll end up posting tonight or tomorrow, depending on when I can make a cover for it...stay tuned for a Lepus-sponsored writing challenge that's been brewing in the brain cells for a little while (: I hope you like it!

Hi friends!
          
          So, I go back up to school tomorrow (SO excited!) and that means I’ll begin to exist again on this site. I have a lot of stuff to read and a lot of stuff to write…how do you motivate yourself to actually write the ideas you have? I’ve been /thinking about/ writing for the past week but I haven’t actually written anything. I have ideas and characters and fairly vague plots but I haven’t created anything yet. How do you do it? Lepus question there.
          
          One of my actual real school projects this year involves writing historical fiction (it’s mostly about other stuff, but that’s involved too) so I WILL be writing more because my grade in that class depends on it. Anyone up for another round of ‘guess Lepus’s major’ because nobody got it the first time? (:

Hi all!!
          
          Is Parallel on some pseudo-official reading list that I don’t know about?? I’ve gotten notifications that four people added it to their reading list in the past two days and I’m intrigued. How are you finding this story??
          
          Anyhow, what’s up with all of you? Is anyone entering the Watty’s? I guess that’s the Lepus question — why or why not and what are you throwing in (if anything)? What are your thoughts on it in general? I know most of the stuff that wins is usually popular already, plus one or two random things that seem to come out of nowhere. I keep getting ads and whatnot about it but I don’t have any stories that are long enough (or that I think are decent enough) to enter. I think I might try next year, but I’ve been so busy with work and whatnot that I haven’t had much time to write. The rehashed and hopefully improved version of Moscow Winters is in the thoughts, so that’s probably the next big thing I’ll end up posting, although I’m also working on some more histfic shorts too. I haven’t written in ages…thanks for still following me.
