Dave and Sierra left her house not paying attention to what she said
Since the receptionist knew what happened she took it upon herself to get the police involved
The police went to the house but couldn't investigate much
It was pointless
3 days went by and still no sign for the kids

The three went down to the police station to see if there was any news and there was still nothing.
