[Book 2] Sofia The First: A Friends Company

A Sick Morning

It was a beautiful day at the kingdom of Enchancia, the birds are singing and the sun is rising.

Princess Sofia is finished getting dressed and she made her way to the dining room for breakfast, when she was walking, she felt a little dizzy.

After a few minutes of walking, she made it to the dining room and took a seat next to Amber, her stepsister, or should I say—sister.

While they were eating their breakfast, Miranda, the queen, noticed that Sofia doesn't look good so she wants to check if Sofia is alright

"Sofia, are you okay, you don't look so good" Miranda asked her

Sofia turned to her mother, "I'm fine mom" she replied then she began coughing roughly causing everyone to look at her.

"Woah, Sof, your voice sounds different" James told her who was still sneezing and coughing

Miranda stood up from her chair and walk towards Sofia and placed her hand on Sofia's forehead

"woah Sofia, you're burning up like fire" Miranda told her, "how about you go back to your bedroom and take a rest first" she added

"But we have a playdate with Leona and Hugo today, I can't just ditch our first playdate with Leona" Sofia said as she starts sneezing.

"Bless you" James said as he handed his sister a tissue

Sofia took the tissue, "thanks James" she said as she wiped her nose.

King Roland looked at his daughter, "Sofia, you need to rest, I'll tell your friends that you won't be playing with them today" he told her

Sofia just nodded in disappointment as she stood up from her chair but she fell down because she was too dizzy, Amber and Miranda helped Sofia get back on her feet.

King Roland turned to Violet and said, "Violet, can you take Sofia back to her room please"

"Right away your majesty" Violet replied as she took Sofia and carefully took her back to Sofia's room.

the royal family is worried for Sofia's health.

"I hope Sofia will be better soon" Amber hoped

"Yeah, and she can't even play with us, not to mention, having a playdate with Hugo and Leona today" James said as he sighed

Just then, trumpets began to play meaning Hugo and Leona are already here for their playdate.

Amber and James went to the entrance and waved at Hugo and Leona who just got off their coach

Hugo and Leona went up to Amber and James

"Hey guys, ready for our playdate?" Hugo asked with excitement

"yeah" James replied as he sighed

Hugo noticed his friend looking down, "You okay James?" he asked

"Yeah" James answered

Leona noticed that Sofia isn't around then she asked, "Uh...where's Sofia?"

The twins looked at each other and sighed sadly

"she's in her room" Amber replied

"Sofia is not feeling well today" James added

Hugo and Leona were surprised and sad to hear that Sofia is sick today meaning she can't even play with them.

"That's sad, and this was supposed to be Leona's first playdate with her new friends" Hugo said

"Can we go see her?" Leona asked

James and Amber nodded, "sure" they both chorused as they led Hugo and Leona to Sofia's room

When they made their way to Sofia's room, they can hear heavy coughs and sneezing

"woah, I hope she's okay" Hugo told them who nodded

They knocked on the door amd entered the room and saw Sofia lying in bed alone still sneezing and coughing

"Sofia, you got company" James told her

"hey Sofia" Leona greeted her with no expression on her face but worried for her friend.

Sofia turned to her friend and smiled, "Hey Leona, Hugo" she said as she sneeze

"bless you" Hugo said

"thanks" Sofia replied

"how are you?" Leona asked her

"Just, a little,lonely" Sofia replied as she coughs heavily, "Sorry for not joining your first playdate Leona"

That sentence made everyone sad for her.

Just then the castle steward entered the room that made everyone startled.

"Hello Prince Hugo and Princess Leona, your father sent a letter saying you can stay here overnight, they'll get you both home tomorrow after breakfast" the steward told them

"Thanks Baileywick" Hugo and Leona chorused

"You are very welcome," the steward bowed as he left the royals alone

James and Amber went up to their sister

"you feeling okay?" Amber asked

"still a little stuffy and dizzy, but I'm sure I'll be fine" Sofia replied

"Do you want some company?, you said you are feeling alone" Leona asked

"sure, I'd love that" Sofia replied as she smiled

Just then Amber got an idea

"I know, lets have a sleepover here in Sofia's room tonight" Amber suggested

Everyone liked the idea, James got two sleeping bags for him and Hugo, so did Amber...

Throughout the day, Amber, Hugo and James just did some funny acts, while Leona just remained silent not knowing what is happening, but they did their best to make Sofia feel better.

They looked at Sofia and it warmed their hearts to see Sofia laughing and smiling...
