That's what they called them.
They can't see below us.
They don't know about
our underground network.
Our great trees control it.
The young trees are fed.
The sick ones healed.
We are kept strong.
They can't imagine
sharing and caring
in trees.
Once they knew this
and lived this way too.
Not anymore.
They lost their connection.
Became takers.
(Avatar had it right. An underground network (mycorrhizal) joins many trees. And the great old trees are the hub - passing the nutrients where they are needed.)
