update / aug 2016: i've matured a lot since i wrote this story, and have realised that in places, it's a poor representations of the experiences of the transgender community. as i'm not trans, my voice on their experiences should not be interpreted as a true picture of what being trans is like, and it should also be remembered that there is not one, singular 'trans experience.' i hope you still enjoy the story, but it's light-hearted and i don't want it to be taken as a brilliant example of diverse writing - because it's not. thank you!
