New Ice-age themed building pieces, such as the painted Cave Walls allowing you to build things such as cave tunnels giving off an immersive paleolithic experience. comes with the American Serengeti DLC mission.

You can also install an underwater cage to your lagoons, allowing your guests (and yourself) to do cage dives with some of your dangerous underwater predators. comes with the Mega-Shark attack DLC Mission.

Another new feature is being able to interact with your extinct animals, such as being able to wash your larger animals by blasting them with a water cannon, as well as being able to feed them by hand. this feature is mainly restricted to large herbivores, such as Sauropods or Mammoths.

Because you're now building parks around the world outside of your little zoo in Costa Rica from the base game, you'll be building in biomes of varying climates, and not every animal is going to accommodate well to their new home in the 21st century, you can't expect a Tyrannosaurus to be comfortable in the cold of Siberia, or a Mammoth to adjust to the tropical climate of Singapore! That's why DR international has come of with the perfect solution: Heaters and Coolers, which can alter the temperature of your animal's habitat just by attaching these machines to the barriers of your exhibit and adjust the temperature accordingly!

A new form of transportation is also introduced: the River Cruise, these boats will transport guests across any body of water where they can spot Dinosaurs coming to the water to drink, or spot an Ichthyosaur or stem-whale breaching by the vessel. they're pretty large so they can hold many passengers at a time.

Another new piece of Guest entertainment added in Phase 2 (this one coming with the Earth's Alien World DLC mission) is the Touch tank, where visitors of the Reserve young and old can come pet some of the smaller, more friendlier ancient marine life such as Trilobites and prehistoric fish.
