I never thought I'd be the person obsessing over every little thing someone did. Wondering what and how they were doing at all times. Questioning whether they were okay, even if they have the biggest, cutest smile in the world. Seeing them and getting those stupid little stomach flutter things.

That was, until my neighbors moved to Morocco, and the house next to me was put up for sale. I wasn't a fan of the parents, Polly and Steven. But God, their daughter is a fucking angel and she could have me on my knees anytime.

In more ways than one.

I'm currently waiting for her to get home before I go to bed. That sounds creepy as fuck, but we don't live in the best neighborhood and it's late. I just need to make sure she is okay before I ignore her like usual.

I'd give anything to be able to talk to her like a civil human being, but instead, I'm always an asshole to her. To everyone really, but she's different. I shouldn't be mean to her.

Still, she treats me as nicely as anyone else. I don't know how she does it.

My stomach flips when I glance out my window and see her walking down the street.

Fuck.

She looks as gorgeous as ever, with her raven hair pulled into a pony through a baseball cap. She is wearing a white polo with an open zip-up over it and a pleated skirt. I'm not a fan of the stereotypical uniform for anyone at our school, but at least she has leggings on underneath.

I take my headphones off, setting them to the side as she and some guy approach.

"Okay, uh, this is me." I hear her say through my open window. "Are you sure you can yet yourself home alright? Um, I can walk you."

A frown settles on my face at her offer. He better say no.

I pull back my curtain a bit, not bothering to hide my glare when he looks up towards me. Her back is to me though. His eyes widen a bit and he shakes his head immediately. "N-no, I think I'm good. T-thanks, uh, thanks though." He stumbles over his words, staring at me the whole time, leading her to glance over her shoulder.

I hear a small sigh, then she turns back to the dude. "Alright, well get home safe. Text me when you get there, okay?" He nods, walking off quickly. She turns around and crosses her arms, trying to look frustrated. Maybe she really is mad at me, but all it does is make her more adorable. "You didn't have to scare him off."

I shrug, thankful for once that the screen is broken on my window so I can lean out. "Not my fault I got woken up at-" I lie through my teeth, glancing at the time. Holy shit, I didn't realize how late it really was. "Twelve twenty-seven in the morning. That's late for you, Angel. How was your date with Skitzo?"

She huffs. "How many times do I have to tell you that's not my name? And that's rude, you shouldn't call someone that." She pauses, then both her face and arms fall. "Were you actually sleeping? I'm sorry!"

I avoid answering her question, changing the subject. "Are mommy and daddy gonna be mad you're still out?" Her eyes widen. I love watching her expressions. "What, you have a curfew?" I tease, earning a groan.

Fuck. That went straight to my dick.

"I was supposed to be home by eleven. I just got side tracked setting up the kids area at the college fair and then everyone needed help so I thought I could just stay a bit longer and then Henry said he wanted to show me something and then it got really late and, just- oh God. They're gonna kill me."

A snarky retort is on the tip of my tongue, until I see her turn and look up at a window. "What are you doing?"

"My parents are gonna be really mad if I come in this late, even if it was for a good cause." She reaches up, trying to climb up the siding.
