It feels like there’s a thousand of insects rumbling in my stomach right now. Why did he even come here with bunch of roses and a freaking basket with mouthwatering croissants in it. I can’t put up my attitude when I saw Daddy Ranford watching me from the kitchen.

We were quiet. No one spoke a word yet ever since he came.

“Does she want marshmallow?” I heard Nico asked Daddy Ranford.

Daddy glanced at me but Nico didn’t. I shrugged.

Bahala sila mag-isip.

“Lagyan mo na para sure.”

Nico obliged.

He slightly pushed the basket of croissant in my direction. “Kain ka na.” He said softly and actually the first time he talked to me sa ilang minute na nandito siya.

I’m itching to be irritated at him pero baka sabihin ni Daddy Ranford hindi ako grateful na pinaghanda ako ng agahan. I bit my lip and pushes myself to speak,”Thanks” I just mumbled and started eating, biting just a little bit at a time.

It was really awkward. Nico can’t even speak about what we should be discussing right now dahil din siguro kay Daddy Ranford.

A minute had past at nakarinig ako ng kalampag sa kusina. I exhale. It’s Daddy Sam in hurry preparing his coffee. “We’re leaving.”

Daddy Ranford grunted. “Nag-aagahan pa ako.”

Daddy Sam pulled the hem of his shirt again. “Tara na.” May diin ang banggit nito.
I just saw Daddy Ranford frown bago sila pumasok sa kwarto nila.

Nico breathed, mukang nakahinga na ng maluwag. And finally, I raised a brow at him. “What are you looking at?”

Marahas akong kumagat sa croissant at ngumuya. He looks constipated while looking at me.

“You seem to be replying to the right person now kaya hindi ka na nakakareply sakin.”

He looked at me blankly. “I explained it already.”

“I know nothing about your explanation.”

He carefully sat beside me on the floor. Sumandal siya sa sofa at pumikit. He looks so done with me kaya hinayaan ko na. I’ll give him the credit for waking up early and preparing my breakfast.

He still has his eyes closed so I slowly wandered my eyes on his face.

He’s really good-looking.

I stopped my eyes when I reached his neck. There’s no way I’m gonna check out his body, even though I’ve seen a lot already when I saw his selfies. I really hope that if he put those out in public at naka shut off ang comment section.

“Kumain ka na?” I asked when I realized I’m the only one eating.

For a minute, he didn’t answer. He heaved another sigh, parang pagod na pagod talaga.
