JADE EVERDEEN FOUND THE GREATEST SENSE OF HAPPINESS WHEN SHE acknowledged the forest's sweet embrace. Its aura was embedded in her bones and cursed though her veins. Anything about the girl translated it.
A trail of giggles and toothy smiles followed the girl when her feet sunk into the hard-dipped earth. The rhythm of the dancing trees guided by the translucent wind remind the young girl of the swaying of a rocking boat, pronouncing its last movements against the inevitability of time.
The girl had grown to find comfort in the swirl of viridescent nature and its melancholic, omnipresent cooing, twirling under the dark melody. Her soul revolved around the golden specks that dotted a squirrel's fur when he mounted an imposing sapling.
Her chestnut tangles flowed in the chilling air, and her lips quirked up at the droplets of maroon liquid dotting her scarred palm. Yet, her smile vanished when reality came crashing in, reminding her of her home and its destruction.
It had taken Jade Everdeen some time to appreciate her district, and to dissipate her crescendo anger.
For it was true, the young girl took form of a beautiful, and deadly creature, that used its feathered wings to protect those that she loved and strike those who she deli barely inflict pain. Maybe the myths and legends were true, maybe she truly was a monster. Or just a lethal hunter.
