And here we were, finally starting with the wedding functions. It was the sangeet function today. The air around the house was filled with the sweet aroma of indian sweets, the clinking of utensils was heard all around as the house helps were busy preparing for the sangeet function.

Aryan was busy making sure all the decorations and other preparations are done properly, as the house was getting beautifully decorated with colorful flowers and fairy lights. The walls were draped with shimmering curtains, and few girls helping out by adorning the floor with intricate rangolis. Dad and Kabir were running all around the house making sure everything is in place, and attending the few guests who had started arriving.

"Mayra, please check if Aaru needs any help?" Maa came up to me.

"Don't worry maa, I will go and check on her. Can you tell Aryan that the music system is not working, it has some loose connections."

"Sangeet hai aaj! Usme music system nahi chal raha hai? Aise kaise chalega!" Maa was clearly stressing out with everything around her.

"Maa, you take a seat. Here drink some water first..." I brought a glass of water to her. "Why are you worrying so much maa? We are all there na, we are going to manage it." I held her hand giving her a reassuring smile.

"You come with me, stay with your daughter in her room. I will manage everything here." Both of us went to Aaru's room, only to find her sitting on the bed, doing nothing. She hadn't even started getting ready for the event.

"Aaru? Its 6 already, the guests have started arriving, you are not ready yet!" I spoke as I sat opposite to her.

"I don't want to get married!" She announced making us both widen our eyes at her.

"Aaru what are you saying? What happened baccha?" Maa asked her softly.

"I don't want to leave all of you and go anywhere!" She looked away.

"Aaru listen to me." I turned her face to look at me, and noticed tears rolling down her cheeks and she instantly hugged me.

"Bhabi how did you leave your home to come here! I am not able to get myself to do that, I was preparing myself from all these days, but now see we just have 3 more days. I can't do this bhabi!" She cried her heart out and I rubbed her back caressing her hair.
