A Watch That Doesn't Tell Time

CH 2. Washington B.C.

Now in Washington D.C., you and your friends were expecting to see a landmark, stay the night, hop back into the RV, and leave. But fate had other plans seeing as you were now in your newly named Heatblast form rushing through a burning building

A mother and her son were seen coughing as they tried their best not to inhale the smoke that was trying to suffocate them. As they were catching their breathes, a piece of the ceiling began to fall toward them

The mother knew that if she tossed her son away, he would most likely end up being waten by the flames. So holding her son close, she prayed that she'd be able to protect him from being injured too much. Just when the mother thought it was over, she felt no impact and saw you holding it up without issue "Uh, hey, how're you?"

She only stared at you in shock mostly due to the question you had just asked her than the way you looked. Seeing as she was too shocked to move, you nudged your head toward the exit "We might want to get going lady, don't want you and your boy dying anytime soon"

With a nod, she followed after you as you absorbed some of the fire that was in your way so they could have a safe path out. Once you were outside, you were met with Max "You gotta come on, the fire was just a distraction for a robbery!"

"Huh? Are you serious?" You asked, following after him as the boy called out to you. Twisting around, you began to walk backward while firing finger guns at them "I'd love to stay and chat, but I gotta go, sorry!"

With Max driving, you got atop of the Rustbucket as he gave chase. Inside, a happy Ai was sitting next to Gwen who was trying to stay still due to all the turns they were taking

"Who knew summer would be this much fun" Ai said, clapping her hands at the speed they were going

"Why couldn't they have taken Ben instead of me?" She whispered to herself

On the roof of the car, you were holding on for dear life trying not to fall off as Max rolled his window down. Leaning out the window, she shouted to you "That's them, Y/N"

"Oh, yeah?" Stretching your shoulders, you made a finger gun and aimed at the moving vehicle "Heh, bang!"

With a sharp flame shooting from your finger, it pierced one of its tires causing the driver to swerve out of control. Not being able to stabilize it, he crashed into a nearby sign. With the robbers dealt with, you hopped off the RV and walked over to the thieves as they began to crawl out of the wreckage

"Two crimes stopped in one day, I'm on fire" You chuckled to yourself as you stepped in front of the downed me, who looked at you with large eyes "So, which of you wants to go down first?"

The smirk you carried quickly disappeared as your Omnitrix flashed red. Now back in your regular form, you looked at the three with a nervous expression "I should be going" You said, trying to sneak away as the police pulled up

"Out of the way kid, this place is dangerous" One of the officers told you as they began to guide you away

Once you were far enough, she went back to the crime scene "Another job well done by yours truly" You smiled to yourself, making your way back to the RV

In a different part of Washington, a landlord is seen banging on the door to one of his apartments. Since the tenant wasn't answering, he pulled out a pair of keys and opened the door himself

A feeling of unease overtook his senses as he looked around the room and saw nothing but animals in cages, some covered, some not. Once he made it to the middle of the room, a voice barked at him "Get out of here, you're disturbing my research!"
