You recently applied for a job at Café Mami after Mera (a new friend you made) told you that you could work there since she overheard you looking for a job. You were really shocked to learn that PK Academy allows students to have part-time jobs.

You also heard from her that Saeki? Saikee? Saikey?
Psychic? Oh right, Saiki, was a regular there, so she told you to expect him often.

Today was your first day, and it went.. Fine. There were barely any customers and Mera said today was the most customers they had in a while. Well, it was the weekends, but what did she mean in a while!?

You heard the bell ring, and sure enough, Mera was right, it was the Saiki person she was talking about. It wouldn't hurt to make small talk with your classmate, right?

Mera told you he usually orders a simple coffee and coffee jelly. It was actually simple enough to bring, and thankfully, after overthinking that you'd drop the tray to the floor, you didn't. (You also wondered why Mera kept on dropping the food, but it's not important for now, at least.)

You went to Saiki's table and set down the coffee you also noticed that he was staring the coffee jelly a lot with a smile. Also a little bit of a drool on the side of his mouth?

When you finally set down the coffee jelly on the table, alongside a spoon, he immediately grabbed the utensil and took a spoonful of the coffee jelly. He ate it so.. How could you explain? With a cute face? Yeah, so what if you found it oddly cute?

You took in his facial expression and features, he was quite handsome, you weren't gonna lie. But not to the point where it would make your heart skip a beat- Which Saiki was glad to hear while he was reading or hearing your thoughts.

Of course you didn't know Saiki could read/hear thoughts, and so you just thought that he thought you were weird, so you stopped staring at him and immediately apologized.

"I'm really sorry Saiki! I didn't mean to look like a creep or whatever.. I hope I really didn't though!"

Saiki just nodded at you, with an indifferent expression on his face. There was such a huge contrast between his face when he ate the coffee jelly and right now when he was looking at you as you apologized.

You just bet that he didn't really like you OR he wanted to be left alone. You just said 'screw it' and left him alone without uttering another word.

𝟹

Needless to say, Saiki was a little impressed and shocked that you left him alone just like that. Maybe he didn't need to worry about you becoming one of his 'friends' that follow him all the time. (It doesn't matter because he still cares about them deeply, he's just too stubborn to admit it.)

Well, at least all he had to do was put up with the... Questionable questions you kept on thinking about in class. (And topics!)

He opened the gate to his house and heard a familiar voice. He didn't need to turn around to know who it was though.

"Oh? Saiki-kun?"

"Oh? Saiki-kun?"
