you try to shield the girls away from your view as giggles and whispers come from Clemmy and her gang

you swear it's about yesterday, how you ran out of that store like a mad woman once you heard the price

It's over. you have no friends

"What are you doing?"

and that also includes him.

"Do you have a headache? why are you cupping your face?" He asks again, placing his bookbag on the desk before leaning into your view

"What's the matter with you?" He says and finally, you've had enough

your hands shoot down onto the desk and you turn to him,

"What's the matter with you? I told you Coriolanus, I'm not talking to you! Nothing could make me want to talk to you! Even if you were the last person on earth I wouldn't-"

Suddenly, Mr. Highbottom walks into class and ends the chatter with a cough, you huff and turn back to the class. your yelling at Snow will have to continue later.

"Hello, class. I'm sure I'm not the first to tell you, but, I'm definitely being forced to..." he mumbles, swaying towards the door to see the headmaster leaning on it with a grin

"But the winter formal is in 2 weeks,  So, essays for all of you!" the class erupts with protests and the headmaster storms over to Mr. Highbottom, he seems to convince her about the absurd and sudden essay because she rolls her eyes and backs up.

the hollering dies down with a sudden swish of his hand and he starts,

"You won't be alone on this, The classmate to your right will be your partner. I need an essay on the districts. Each pair will get a district and both of them will collaborate to write an essay on the importance of that district. I need it on my desk before the formal." He finishes his speech and then chatter of pairs starts to fill the room

you turn to your immediate right, remembering it's the person you just said you wouldn't talk to if he was the last person on earth

he grins, palm in head,

"Still not talking?"

.

you insisted on writing the essay at his house, not daring to give him any more reasons to poke fun at you, but as you step onto this porch, you start to rethink that.

you hear a young woman yelling "where are the scissors?" and an older one asking for her lipstick. pots and pans click and clang and you wonder if this would really be the best place to write an essay

none the less, you lift your fist and bang it against the painted wooden door

"CORYO GET THE DOOR!" the young woman screams, you wait a couple of minutes before knocking again

"CORYO- never mind." you hear footsteps and then the door swings open, a tall beautiful woman stood in front of you. you couldn't help but get nervous that you interrupted Coryo and his girlfriend, so you started to stutter

"o-oh, I'm sorry is coriolanus here? I'm a classmate?" you look to your feet but the woman sticks her hand out

"I'm Tigris, Coryo just can't HEAR EVERY GOOD RIGHT NOW! So he's not coming down." She turns back into the apartment to yell but looks back at you to speak softly, you couldn't help but smile at the warm environment this apartment seemed to be filled with.

She invites you in and you sit at the dining table that was filled with envelopes and packages, Tigris walks circles around the house with ribbons in one hand as she mumbles about scissors, an old woman walks in and as she does the smell of roses followed her.

"Grandma'am, have you seen the scissors?" Tigris asks but the lady walks right to you

"Snow finally brought a girl! My life is complete!" she cried, squishing your cheeks.

So I guess Tigris isn't Coryo's girlfriend  you thought

"No, grandma'am it's a classmate, not a girlfriend" Tigris mumbles

"Girlfriend?" The chatter stops as everyone turns to Coriolanus, his eyes land on you as the old woman's fingers still grip your cheeks

his eyes fill with embarrassment as he runs over to you and grabs your hand, lifting you up and dragging you to his room

you once you stumble in Coryo paces with a red face

"Do you knock? Y/n?" he accuses, your face turns and you scoff slightly

"I knocked forever until that girl- Tigris opened for me."

"That's my cousin- And- She didn't call for me?" He huffs, fingers running through his hair

"I don't see the problem, I was gonna get in one way for another. Might as well sooner before I got frostbitten" you say, cocked brow as you failed to see the issue

"It's just- Can you not tell anyone? at school?" he whispers, blue eyes pleading

"tell them what?"

"My- My house. I can't lose my respect there because of this stupid essay..." he shamefully admits and everything hits you like a train

he's just like you.

you nod slowly, fists bunching together as you think about Clemmy and her friends

"You shouldn't care what they think of you" you whisper, he looks at you confused.

"That's easy for you to say" he scoffs

"I live a block down." you admit, embarrassment climbing up your spine and you look away. his apartment is a dream compared to yours

his silent for a moment, you even thought he left until you felt his arms wrap around you.

Maybe Coryo isn't that bad.
