Back in Brooklyn, It was early in the morning as the Mario family was around the dinner table and was about to eat breakfast. Papa Mario used some tongs to put a stack of four fluffy golden pancakes on top of a plate for his father-in-law, causing the elderly man to let out a breathless laugh while smiling down at the food.
Uncle Tony: "That's beautiful! You made these, right?"
He asked as he poked a fork into the pancake and inspected under it before looking back up while Uncle Arthur sat down next to Auntie Maria. Mama Mario smiled at him and placed a down a long plate of pancakes. She was about to respond until she felt the table start to shake as she heard the eerie sound of rumbling.
She gasped in confusion and glanced down at the table as the silverware, plates and glass cups began to tremble violently. Not a few seconds later, The lights in the house started to flicker on and off, causing everyone to look up in dread and bewilderment. Mama Mario's face dropped in panic as her eyes got wider with shock. Her grandpa frowned from the commotion while Uncle Tony slowly ate a piece of his pancake with shock written on his face.
In the swears, The dimly lit lightbulbs besides the green pipe broke and shattered from the overwhelming power, Leaving the room in darkness. The green pipe started to emit a bright rainbow light as it flowed through the sewer lid. The lid began to shake and lift occasionally with the pressure as the rainbow aura got brighter until it flew into the air and clattered on the hard ground.
Mario screamed as he soared in the mid air before he collided on the rough road while he grunted in pain. He scratched his soft cheek on the gravel before he used his arm to lift himself up slightly. His eyes squinted as his clothes were stained with white dust and powered debris. He breathed heavily as he looked up before his eyes got wide with a puzzled look on his face.
Mario: "Huh?"
He got up on his feet and looked around the familiar streets of his home with a perplexed expression. The streets weren't flooded anymore. It was completely back to normal. There were cars driving on the road as the sky was a beautiful ombré of blue, purple, and pink.
Mario: "Brooklyn?"
He quietly asked himself with shock in his voice with furrowed eyebrows. He started to walk forward, But he quickly stopped as a van was about to hit him. Mario flinched and gasped in surprise but thankfully the car slammed on the breaks just in time with its headlights on. The person driving the van poked his head out from his windows and it was revealed to be Spike.
Spike: "Mario?!"
He exclaimed with an upset tone before he got out of his vehicle, But Mario couldn't pay no mind to him. He was still in a state of disbelief as he looked away from his ex-boss, But Spike was happy as he walked towards him and grabbed Mario by his overall straps while shaking him a bit causing Mario to look up at him.
Spike: "You almost dented my-!"
Spike glared at him as he was about to angrily complain before he interrupted by the sound of a ear-splitting explosion causing the two the sharply turn their heads towards the sound.
