(Hand in hand with my hc that the farmer is autistic)

He loves to learn how to understand you

He likes to hear about your hyper-fixations

He enjoys simply spending time with you when you go nonverbal

He likes to know that even though you are not a fan of physical contact with him you don't feel overstimulation or sensory sensitivity

He knows how much you appreciate order and routine, so he learned very meticulously what kind of order you like and how to get involved in your routines without pushing you into a meltdown over some sudden change

He likes to know that you come to him to explain the jokes you don't understand or the unfamiliar social norms within Pelican Town, because he knows that he managed to form a connection where you feel safe to be who you are.

Reminder that not all autistic people are the same, it's a spectrum, I was simply guided by how our character is performing in Pelican Town;
Strictly following the stores' schedules
Keeping an order of things sold, saucers, cards, etc
Being non-verbal (although I know perfectly well why there is no dialogue)
But being the one who initiates the physical contact with the partner, being able to repeat the action many times without any problem

(I'm autistic, in case you're also worried that someone non-neurodivergent will make a HC about it)

(Also, autistic people knows sarcasm, and they know how and when to lie if the situation warrants it)
(I say this because of Penny's food scene, or Sebastian's jokes)
