they say that
flowers can't grow
until the rain says hello
but flowers can't bloom
if the sun doesn't shine through
and flowers can't emerge
if their minds are at purge
and flowers can't blossom
if they feel they're forgotten
and flowers can't burgeon
if they know they're a burden
flowers can't thrive
if they hate being alive
