Captured

This can't be real

I grinned as I walked downstairs, following the heavenly scent of bacon. Ah, such a bright and wonderful morning.

A crash and a string of curses followed. Maybe I spoke too soon...

I ran to the kitchen and saw Austin holding his red thumb while trying to flip the bacon. I chuckled and walked over to him, pecking him on the cheek.

"Mornin!" I said helping him flip the bacon.

He grumbled while tending to his swollen thumb. "How can you be so cheerful in the morning?" He asked looking up at me.

I shrugged as I set down a plate of bacon in front of him. I got my own plate and sat down next to him. My stomach growled telling me it needs filling up. I was about to dig in when I notice Austin staring at me.

"You know... it's rude to stare," I said, giving him a cheeky smile.

"You know you can't help it when there's a magnificent beauty in front of you."

I blushed, not knowing what to say. He lifted a hand and placed it on my cheek. I looked at him, taking in his features.

He started leaning in, and on instinct I leaned in. Our lips were barely a centimeter away when the front door banged open. Austin growled for getting interrupted.

"SHOW NO FEAR FOR THE HERO IS HERE!" A voice none other that Liam yelled.

A whack was heard followed by an, "Ow!"

Chloe, Liam,Josh, and Luke appeared in the doorway. Seeing our close proximity, Chloe raised an eyebrow, "Did we interrupt?"

I smiled at them and shook my head though a part of me was disappointed that they interrupted our kiss.

"Let's do something fun today," Chloe said clapping her hands.

"Don't we do something fun everyday?" Luke asked.

"Shut up, smartass," Chloe said.

"Make me," Luke said, smirking.

"Don't even think about it," Austin said glaring at Luke.

"Ok sheesh, chill."

'Alpha, there's a weird scent at the border' a pack member said.

Without another word, Austin ran out of the kitchen just to return back in a few seconds to kiss me on the lips then he's out again. I blinked, trying to make sense of what happened.

"Aww you guys are literally the cutest!" Chloe squealed.

"I know right!" Liam joined in a few seconds later.

I rolled my eyes at them, "Come on guys."

I walked out and shifted. Without another glance to see if they're following or not, I ran after Austin's scent.

I arrived at the east side of the border and found that I was alone. Huh, the lazy asses. I sniffed the air and the scent of blood filled my nose. I looked around and started to panic when I can't see Austin anywhere.

Where are you?

A few meters away from you

I huffed. How could I not smell him when he's literally a few meters away.

I ran towards him and the scent of blood got stronger. As I got closer I saw someone lying on the ground. I stepped a little closer and froze.

No this can't be happening. He's dead. I saw the whole entire place burn to the ground. I shook my head, not believing it.
